Apart from two tempos of the theme music, does anyone think there's enough material for a soundtrack album? Of course Dudley Simpson's recordings probably went the same way as his Who stuff. Heathcliffe......? Good evening. Sure, there's enough material for an album, but AFAIK there's nowt left. Probably wiped to make way for Two Ronnies comedy songs or whatever. For the record (no pun intended), I think there's some nice music in the eps Project Avalon, Orac, Star One, Sarcophagus, Ultraworld, plus a few cool cues scattered through all the series. It would make for a nice tight 80 minute CD. Find some money and I'll produce it for you.

Love this show! I caught it in the 80's here in the states when Who was all the rage and I was floored by how good it was. I didn't care about the spit and Scotch Tape special effects and really got into the characters immediately. The series lost something special when Gareth Thomas bailed. He may have had a thankless role as Blake, but his staunch heroism was the perfect counter to Avon's murky morals. As the main lead, Avon wasn't quite as interesting, especially when people like Blake and Jenna were replaced by Tarrant and Dana, who were really pretty dull in character and wit. Blake was Avon's equal, but those guys never came close. However, Paul Darrow was the series for me. He was the most interesting character to watch and as he progressed, he got more and more paranoid while taking on a more selfless stance to bring down the Federation. I also found his obsession with Blake to be very telling. It was a smart series, great fun and the final episode was easily the best and most wrenching sci-fi series finale to hit my TV screen until Babylon 5 closed up shop.

I absolutely love Blake's 7, one of my favourite series of all time. Even as a kid, it was noticeably more adult and dramatic for me than Doctor Who. Avon was one of my childhood heroes, along with Stringfellow Hawke and Spiderman! I didn't actually start watching Blake's 7 until Season 3, so had no idea who this Blake character was. It wasn't until the series first came out on VHS in the early 90's that I could watch it from the beginning. As a character, I always found Blake a bit too sensible and boring. But it's something you don't really notice amongst the ensemble of the other cast. Season 4 is great, really shows how much of a group of survivors they were in the face of adversity, keeping going after finding a new spaceship, and Avon becoming so much more a megalomaniac. He had almost become the bad guy that you still rooted for. I don't care about the low-budget and cheap FX, it's all about the characters, and the actors' portrayals. I don't think it could be replicated today, it's just not suited to big-budget and modern-style gloss. If the remake does ever happen, it will only be Blake's 7 by name. Great stuff!!!

That's nice. I doubt Britbox US will want to show these. When I contacted them back in August regarding The Prisoner, Sapphire and Steel, UFO and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Britbox US had never heard of these shows. Instead, they said "But we do have Dirk Gently and Red Dwarf." Lovely, can't wait. Further solidifying its status as the streaming home of cult TV in the UK, BritBox has announced that it will be adding Blake’s 7 and the original Survivors to its platform. The shows, along with a selection of other vintage series and films, will be joining the cult-themed Out of this World collection, which already includes The Prisoner, Sapphire & Steel and Gerry Anderson shows like Thunderbirds and Space: 1999. All 52 episodes of Blake’s 7 – about a ragtag band of rebels fighting to overthrow a tyrannical galactic federation – will arrive on 10th September, while Survivors – which follows the remnants of humanity after 95 per cent of the population is wiped out by a freak plague – will follow on 17th September. https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2020-09-08/britbox-blakes-7-dalek-movies/
