I have been asked to post the following by a film music colleague who is not a member here:
---------------------
7:30pm | 05 July 2015 | Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall
The RCM Students' Film Orchestra pays tribute to influential and admired composer, John Barry. They will play some of his greatest film music hits (including Zulu, Dances with Wolves and Out of Africa), including songs from the James Bond franchise.
Presented by the RCM Students’ Union
Free but tickets required (donations to the Student’s Union chosen charity on the night)
I'm getting an Error message at that link, Thor. It "is" The Royal College of Music page, but no more details are given. Do you think the above two (three?) gentlemen have given the page a dose of the pox?
I shan't be able to go (of course), but I'm all for live music done by student orchestras.
I have no memory of posting this in 2015, but it was apparently for a colleague. Seems like it was only ressurected now because of the above 'spambots', so I'm not surprised if the link is no longer working, 5 years later.
Oops, didn't realise it was an old thread bumped by spammers. Sorry about that. On the other hand it might give some people useful insight into essay writing and amateur film appreciation.
