Nice. I love this set.

Surprising since it's not "complete!"

Surely still no reason not to love it though....

You're missing the point. You must have noticed by now that he always requests titles be "complete!"

It didn't sell he full amount announced, it was discontinued; Mission: Not Accomplished.

Source? I adored this set, but I would guess that if it didn't sell well it was because of the $100 price tag, which is frankly pretty high for a 6 CD set (the highest per-disc cost of any of LLL's sets, I believe). If it had been three 2 disc sets at $24.98 each like The Quinn Martin Collection, I think sales would have been higher in any case.

This is sad reminder that if a set of TV scoring of some of TV's finest scoring, mentioned in the same breath with "Columbo", can't sell well, then there's little to no hope for sets of scoring from anything lesser than those two.

And yet we are apparently getting three volumes of Quinn Martin...

Universal is making an effort to preserve their soundtrack library, so maybe they made a good deal with LLL to sell it.

But QM has ALOT more variety.
MI is for the ultra- fanatics.

This is great news! I hope they include the great cue from… wait a minute, I've never seen an episode of "Mission: Impossible." Still, I hope they don't leave out that cue.

They did/didn't leave it off.

MV said May 14, 2019:

"MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE THE TELEVISION SCORES (6-CD BOX SET) is also going out of print – get yours now!"

And previously he had stated (I don't have the quote handy) that it wasn't selling well.

In preparation for the TV Series coming out on Blu-Ray, been thinking about pulling the trigger on this set. Amazon has one available for $200 which of course means it's double the original price, but I do love the theme and hear the music in general is really good.

So, asking everyone here, should I take the dive?

You like the music and like the show. If the $200 doesn't bother you or break the bank, you've answered your own question.

Yes, pull the trigger and take a dive. But don't forget to buy the Box set. wink

Someone was selling copies for $150 on ebay in July, so you might wait for a lower price. Currently there's a $175 copy, and $25 for half the box. And post a "want" in the trade forum here. Look at it this way - you can always resell it if it doesn't seem worth it.

I got mine when it was in print at $100, and I can definitely recommend it as a great release (though I wouldn’t have minded if they’d done a couple extra discs!)
