Is this even worth hoping for?

If we did get it, what is the likelihood we would see the library music in the release?

One of the labels - forget which - indicated an interest in doing this, but there are apparently some legal snags.

I would gladly pay $100+ for a multi-disc set with all of the original scores penned for the series and as much of the library stuff that can be found.

To be clear, that was the mid-'80s "Twilight Zone." I'm not sure, but my hunch was this question was about the original.

Money burns a hole in my pocket for a comprehensive score collection from the original Twilight Zone. I refer to the 1959-64 TV series with the music by Bernard Herrmann and Jerry Goldsmith. Who wouldn't want to own that? I mean, look at this score breakdown:

Van Cleave ... (12 episodes, 1959-1964)
Jerry Goldsmith ... (7 episodes, 1960-1961)
Bernard Herrmann... (7 episodes, 1959-1963)
Fred Steiner ... (7 episodes, 1960-1963)
René Garriguenc ... (4 episodes, 1960-1964)
Tommy Morgan ... (3 episodes, 1962-1964)
Jeff Alexander ... (2 episodes, 1960-1964)
Lucien Moraweck ... (2 episodes, 1960-1964)
Nathan Scott ... (2 episodes, 1960-1962)
Leonard Rosenman... (1 episode, 1959)
Leith Stevens ... (1 episode, 1959)
Franz Waxman ... (1 episode, 1959)
Lyn Murray ... (1 episode, 1960)
Wilbur Hatch ... (1 episode, 1961)
William Lava ... (1 episode, 1961)
Laurindo Almeida ... (1 episode, 1962)
Robert Drasnin ... (1 episode, 1962)
Henri Lanoë ... (1 episode, 1964)
Richard Shores ... (1 episode, 1964)

It would be worth securing the rights because it would sell exceptionally well, I'm sure.

There was also a discussion about a box set of music from the original series.

If a six-disc set can be released from MISSION IMPOSSIBLE it can't be impossible to release a set from the original TWILIGHT ZONE.

well, there was a 4-cd of TWZ:OS released. It could easily be expanded beyond 6 cds.

What does one have to do with the other?

Probably about persevering in the face of a multitude of copyright lawyers of all parties concerned. And finding actual music recordings.

I'm thinking this project would be more of a hashpipe dream.

After Star Trek TOS and now M:I, I'm ready to believe anything.

I thought that was the post/label you were referring to regarding the 1980s scores.

Oh, is that quote about the 80s scores?

You got my hopes up!

I've forgotten which series MV was talking about. I was merely saying that I thought that was the quote that Schiffy was referring to earlier (about the 80s series). Schiffy didnt specify the label.
