I posted the cue links in another post, but for those who may have not seen, I've retitled the thread and am posting again. Just curious on if you like the score and would buy? As I said in my other thread, it's very "Bill Conti" and Alan Alda who was in THE SEDUCTION OF JOE TYNAN scored by Bill Conti, wrote and directed SWEET LIBERTY.

Here's the Main Title cue:

Here's a cue using the Main Theme which shows the film crew within the film on location.

But it seems youtube is still down.

Well, at least for me.

Anyone able to access youtube?

YouTube is working fine for me on my iPad.

It's not exactly my favorite kind of thing, but I'd buy it. I always buy Broughton because I always listen to it all the way through. He's just that good, whatever he does.

This is far from my favorite Broughton score, but the answer to "Would you buy _________ by Bruce Broughton" is always "yes." (Though "Ice Pirates" briefly shook my resoluteness on this matter.)

Definitely. Not sure how much score there is beyond the main theme though. Good movie, too. I keep hoping for a proper DVD or Blu Ray release.

It was put on D.V.D.-R. as part of the Universal Archives Collection.

It better be paired with something, as I don't recall a great deal of music in this film. I think there is something like 15 or 20 minutes worth.

The question is, what other score (Broughton or other composer) would compliment this score on a paired CD?

Isn't SWEET LIBERTY from Universal? Perhaps a LONELY GUY/SWEET LIBERTY pairing for a Universal comedy double feature?

Very

The only proper widescreen version is the UK DVD which is 16:9 enhanced. The only US DVD is a Universal retail release which is 4:3...it's not part of the Universal MOD program.

As I still have the main title that I taped off the thing back in '87, I'd buy it.

Maybe it could be paired with Cross My Heart (another comedy from Universal, and one of Aaron Spelling's better big-screen productions*)? I don't think there's much score in that one, given its small scale and lots of dialogue - I saw it in the cinema on a double-bill with The Accused (?!?!?) and I don't remember much in the way of music.**

*It's on YouTube at the time of writing.
**But I do remember its shamelessly sexist decision to have Annette O'Toole naked while letting Martin Short keep his underwear on.

YES! This would make an excellent pairing with Broughton's CROSS MY HEART on a wonderful CD!

Love this infectious Broughton theme. Surprised we haven’t seen this one released yet.

I saw SWEET LIBERTY back in 1986.

Cute and fun movie with a fine score by BB.

I would be up for a CD release if offered:-)
