"Dirty crack"

When someone says something snarky and rude, you retort, "That's a dirty crack, mister," just as Elisha Cook said it in The Big Sleep.

When I was in accounting, we had a similar phrase:
"The baboon's big, red, bulbous arse".

We did not always mean it kindly.

"... and step on it!"

"Stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it!"

"Can't never could do nothin'!" - A Southernism, normally used by parents/authority figures when they've asked someone (usually a kid) to do something and that person doesn't want to do it or to even try it and replies with "I can't!" Often the can't rhymes with "ain't".

More Southernisms:
"Slicker than snot on a doorknob."
"The sun don't always shine on the same dog's @ss!"
"That don't cut no mustard with me!"
"As crooked as a dog's hind leg"

Reading a 1960s text containing the phrase "handsome slob of man" made me laugh about the good old days. Surprisingly absent from the omniscient internet. I guess it was a way to say someone was good looking without sounding gay. Although I recall an odd line in a THE INVADERS episode where a detective was describing someone and added "you might call him handsome" (which is subjective, not an objectively identifiable marking).
