Yes, this is probably a silly exercise and is *totally unofficial*, but since our own wonderful Peter Hackman now works at Varese I thought he might at some point alert the powers that be of this thread, so they'd know what people would like them to prioritize. Varese Sarabande of course controls many scores by many composers in perpetuity (meaning only they can release updated versions). Almost everything they released from some point in 1989 onwards falls under this (with occasional exceptions like Studio Canal films, hence Quartet's recent reissues of Basic Instict and Total Recall). Some 80s scores also fall under this: for example, Roger F. of Intrada confirmed that they control rights to any first-time issue of the actual film tracks of Rozsa's Eye of the Needle, due to the agreement made when they produced the album recording with Rozsa. (Something similar exists also for Danny Elfman's Pee Wee's Big Adventure.)
Many composers's scores fall under this umbrella but none moreso than Jerry Goldsmith. So I thought I'd be interesting to ask people here (and on JGOnline): Of the remaining Goldsmith scores Varese probably controls in perpetuity, what would you most like to see updated/expanded?
While I thought it'd be crazy to limit people to only one choice, I didn't want this to get too complicated with rankings or anything, so just pick a maximum of FIVE top priorities and I'll tally the results. The choices, in rough chronological order, are:

Planet of the Apes (1968) (while released complete by Varese about two decades ago, there is ample room for sound improvement as well as perhaps some alternates that could be included)

Varese also possibly has control over his unused scores for Wall Street, The Public Eye, and Babe, *if* anything was recorded for any of them. (Wall Street was probably just demos, The Public Eye was recorded according to Mike Ross-Trevor but I don't know if anyone else has confirmed it, and Babe was written but probably not recorded, though there are some indications that it might have been.) This is because they released the final scores for those films. But since those are up in the air as far as even existing to release, I have left them off the list.
So time to narrow down -- what do you want?
Here are my picks:
The Other (amazing score; Twilight Time isolated track is missing music in Varese's suite and vice versa)
Planet of the Apes (the earlier less complete releases of the score sound better, the whole thing needs Mattessino treatment!)
Mom and Dad Save the World (so sue me, it's fun and inventive and totally underrated)
Medicine Man (personal preference: even with just 15 minutes missing it's one of Goldsmith's best of the 90s)
The Haunting (thanks to DeputyRiley's complete score breakdown we know there's a TON of great unreleased music from this)

Ok, only 5 (that's hard!) -- the next 5 Deluxe Editions I wish are:
Lionheart (1987): I've got the 1994 One Disc reissue but I need more!
L.A. Confidential (1997): I adore this score, the main theme is so evocative of a lost golden Hollywood...
The 13th Warrior (1999): I want everything about this wild score. The meld of the Arabic / Northmen elements is fantastic. A London recording, so no re-use fees.
Hollow Man (2000): There's something so passionate about this score, despite the fact the director now says it was a nightmare, the first 30 minutes of the film are wonderful -- and such is the complete score. Goldsmith always honored a Paul Verhoeven film... Oh, and it's also a London recording, so no re-use fees!
Timeline (2003): Goldsmith was asked to re-write some parts because the editing process was crazzy, and if I remember well, he did so but gave up when he was asked AGAIN to come back a third time. Am I correct?

"Rudy" is number one for me. One of the best things he ever done, one of the best scores ever written, and I'm sick of playing the DVD isolated score with the breif fades on some cues, the rare edits, and the sound mixing that could easily be improved.
"Small Soldiers" is one I'd take as well.
And I'd probably take a complete "air Force One", though I'm not taken by the whole score.
I'll take any rejected score, even if (as supposed to be in one case) it's just one demo cue done.
I'm not really familiar with everything on the list.

Lonely Guy.
Not sure if you might be joking, but this score isn't controlled by Varese at all. The LP was released by MCA (now owned by Universal Music Group). So there is a high likelihood we will eventually see this from Intrada (outside chance of LLL).
I'm amazed at how fast I've gotten so many responses. I guess that tells Varese that there's a lot of demand for more expansions!

Ok, as a Goldsmith lunatic & completist, I'll play.
All of them...put that dude's name on anything, ill watch or buy. Listening to Sleeping with the Enemy now for crying out loud..but I'd be happiest first with:
Mom and Dad Save the World (1991)
Matinee (1993)
Air Force One (1997)
U.S. Marshals (1997)
Small Soldiers (1998)
Tough choice, but those are I think the ones with short existing albums that will be better served with complete presentations. Especially Marshals, top of my list, always loved the raw primal feel of that score.
And, it's literally over before it starts. Seriously.
So we can now look forward to more Angie, Baseball & the others that don't make the hit lists, right? ;-)

Glad to see some love for this score despite the existence of a complete isolated score track on the DVD. In addition to the issues you brought up, the iso track (as with The Mummy iso track) is in compressed audio form (as far as I know only DVD-A's had uncompressed audio tracks). So for such a lovely and beloved score, a DE is totally still worth doing!

Well, nobody really has to tell Varezse. I'm sure there's been demand for unreleased and expanded Goldsmith scores since FSM and Intrada were little hampsters.

The obvious choice for me is "SUPERGIRL" - but it's not on your list?
I believe I explained above: my list is just the titles that Varese (probably) controls in perpetuity, meaning no other labels can release them. Supergirl is not included in that because it was released by Varese before they started getting perpetuity rights in their contracts -- hence why Silva was able to put out that not-fully-satisfactory expanded edition in the 90s.
Most Goldsmith scores not previously released by Varese in the 90s can be put out by Intrada or LLL or Quartet or Kritzerland...this thread is specifically for Varese.
The unfortunate thing about Supergirl is that it IS reportedly held in perpetuity...by Silva, who seem in no hurry to produce a new edition. The ray of hope is this: another Goldsmith Silva title, Rambo: First Blood Part II, was confirmed by Douglass Fake on the Intrada board as no longer being controlled by Silva, so perhaps their rights agreements for these two scores (plus a third from Silva: Legend) were not in perpetuity but had a time limit, in which case if elements survive we could see expanded editions from another label.

Air Force One or Small Soldiers.
In the case of Air Force One, I assume the McNeely cues would be included but the jury's out on the Newman score. I'd love to have it for the sake of completeness but I could easily live without it!
You can pick up to five titles for this poll -- no need to debate about which of two to choose. 
I agree with you on Air Force One -- leaving out the great McNeely cues in Goldsmith's action style would be a deal-breaker; they're highlights of the score frankly. Leaving out the unused Randy Newman score wouldn't be a deal-breaker by any means, but I would certainly like to have it in great quality sound and would happily pay an extra $5-10 dollars for the extra disc it would require.
