This group, Fanny, is noted for being an early serious all-female band. More prosaically it's simply a really entertaining, tuneful rock album.

Live in Philadelphia '70 - The Doors.

Jim Morrison 'broke on through' in Paris 50 years ago today. I wish I was in Pere Lachaise right now (I was there on the 20th anniversary). However, lockdowns dissuaded me. I raise several glasses of scotch to you Jim.

With all the talk of the new Sparks documentary, it's been my favourite Sparks album...Indiscreet, their third release on the Island label. Quite brilliant & I'll be enjoying it 'till the day I die.

Not sure about the documentary, but they recently scored 'cinema du look' director Leos Carax' recent movie musical, ANNETTE, which got lots of raves in Cannes. I've sampled it on Spotify, and it's all very much standard Sparks in terms of the songs. But not much in terms of the score department, which was kinda disappointing.

Have you seen the Van Damme/Roy Scheider movie KNOCK OFF from 1998, scored by Sparks?

Blank Generation - Richard Hell & The Voidoids.

Elliot Goldenthal wrote the score for the 1980 film by the same name, that also contained songs by Hell & co. I can't remember what the connection was between the punk album and the film (I saw it years ago, I seem to remember it's about a music journalist's exploits on the punk scene, so might be some meta/quasi-biopic crossover).

Thanks for the info Thor, I wasn't aware of the movie at all. I see he composed two movies for Ulli Lommel (Cocaine Cowboys was the other one) at the start of his career. Andy Warhol seemed to be involved in both productions as well. I will have a look out for the movie.

Yes, Goldenthal was a friend of Warhol at the time. I've not been able to find COCAINE COWBOYS in my research, even though there are a few clips on Youtube.
