I recognise we've discussed the NFL music at times in General, but we don't seem interested in the sport itself... But I've gotten bored by the sport and it's dumb rules. It's gotten less fun and more convoluted. I also grew up watching outdoor games. I miss the snow and rain. It's a very different experience to conventional team sports like Football (Soccer) and Rugby (American Football's origin) because of its more structured way of playing. That might be why I generally prefer it to those two (though I keep an eye on one team, Bournemouth, currently in the UK's Premier League). Funny thing: after I figured out a team to follow in NFL (the Atlanta Falcons) I found out they had the same kit colours as Bournemouth, red and black!    Posted:   Oct 3, 2016 - 9:54 PM     By:   Cmdr. I’m sick of multimillionaire players spouting off about the unfairness of America, the (IMO) unprofessional behavior and glamor and glitz. Touchdown celebrations, etc., are fine, but nowadays seems like some guys are so over-the-top with almost every play. Leave your politics and protests at home and just play the game. Growing up in the 60s and 70s I really loved Pro Football and I still watch the old “This Week In Pro Football” and Super Bowl highlights shows, etc., and listen regularly to the music from NFL Films. I think that is a huge part of it. Monday Night Football was basically an American tradition available on OTA TV for decades and then they decided to hide it behind a paywall on ESPN. Thursday night football is on OTA TV the first half of the year and then they move the rest of the season behind a paywall on the NFL Network. Talk about confusing the viewers. They probably cut their regular viewers in half by doing this. People just move on to something else for entertainment. I only have basic cable nowadays and I find it very annoying that one of the staples of American entertainment was the ability to watch sports on over the air TV. Now even local college football is spread out over a thousand premium channels. Then there's other sports that sometimes gets delayed and they switch the games over too other channels I don't have. Cable companies are cutting their own throats. Then take something like Hockey. You can't cut cable and buy the NHL internet package because it DOESN'T include your home team games or other broadcast games on your cable system. I would never pay for a service like that.    Posted:   Oct 7, 2016 - 1:35 PM     By:   Ian J.   (Member) In the U.K., with the exception of a few major events (Wimbledon, The Olympics), most major sport is now firmly in the grip of subscription TV, so it's something I'm used to. I can't of course watch any of the NFL games live except the very few that get through on the BBC, and even that is a problem for me right now due to the landlord I live having no license for it and no desire to have anything to do with a license getting anywhere near his property. So I follow what I can online. Good 3rd quarter but the interception really didn't help us, and Ryan's last drive with four incompletes shows we still don't quite get it right. Tons of responses from my Brit Buddies. Now we have the NFL topic right here that should be loaded with lots of comments about REAL football. Where is everyone? Yeah, Ian, Seattle almost blew it. Two weeks in a row we've lost to a field goal now, and both because our defense couldn't hold off the scoring of the opposing team earlier in the game. We may have the highest scoring offense in the NFL this season so far, but our D is really not delivering the goods. Dan Quinn needs to get that sorted, especially as he was DC at Seattle. Sorry about those Falcons. The overtime between Arizona and Seattle made me bite my nails. I find it unique that a kicker can make a field goal from 40 or more yards and miss from 28 yards. Bond   (Member) Another season, another year that Belichick, Brady, & Co. make it look easy--especially Brady. I, for one, think it's fantastic that a 40-year-old man is still the best player in the NFL, with no sign of slowing down. It takes a conspiratorial, league front office investigation to derail him. Goodness knows, my Steelers can't do that. (In his career, Brady is now 9-2 against the most successful team in the league, post-merger.
