i'm still loving on disc one. space is pretty great and a surprise. i guess when an episode is just that bad the music needs to work triple overtime!
i did listen to compacted though from essence while burning the discs. the part i remember most from that episode. has all the low strings as they run through the FBI halls. the drums as billy miles takes a dive and that sort of sorrowful horn that closes our the episodes. good stuff!
I got my box today! I hadn't much time to listen but the Essence tracks are really great. The first part of the finale chase is included in Lizzy's Labours

Yep, some good stuff in this release. I'm kinda sad that the music to the last scene of Deep Throat didn't make it on the set. I know I'm not the only one that wanted to see it in this set.
There are a few curious omissions like that, yeah--the finale cue from "Gender Bender" is also missing, and that's one of the cues that even made it on to the old Truth and the Light disc.

Ahh ... the old Truth and the Light disc. I still have that disc. Maybe, CSM made the track selections?

I don't recall which cue that was, but I was hoping the LLLR's sets would have all the cues that have fucking SFX on them on TTatL disc, so I could re-create that later with a few minor changes (most notably, I'd use the John Beal redo of the Jose Chung's From Outer Space" closing cue to close out the disc*).
* = It would be nice if LLLRs could include that without the annoying soundscape thunder over the opening that transitions from another cue. A nice clean opening would be lovely.

The disks in this newest set are packed to the brim. I'm guessing the omissions are probably due to that fact. Maybe we'll see these missing cues appear on the volume 4 set if people request them loudly enough!
I love the old Truth and the Light disk, dialogue included. It's still a great representation of Snow's work for the first few seasons.

Agreed Chris! I listened to that album countless times before the continuing treasure trove of X-Files music coming from LaLa! I love the dialogue in the album, and am glad it was included. On a separate note, I hope we do indeed get a Volume 4! Hell yeah!!!
The music from Episode 1x01 "Deep Throat" is fantastic!! That has always been one of my favorite episides. Please please please do another volume! If you guys keep putting them out, I'll keep buying them

I agree the disks are packed to the brim. I just remembered that the music at the end of "Deep Throat" is also in the episode "Ghost in the Machine" at the end of the episode. So just maybe it will be released in volume 4? Mr. Snow's work is amazing.
