Hey guys!

On Thursday night I went to a a screening of Dr. Strange with Kevin Feige and Scott Derickson, and there was a Q&A afterwards.

Kevin Feige accidentally let slip that Michael Giacchino will be composing the music for Spider-Man: Homecoming. He then said "We announced that right? I really hope we announced that."

Well it should have a great new theme that sounds something like Nu Star Trek's theme.

Just found out about this news on film music reporter. I'm looking forward to a Giacchino Spider-Man score. However, I hope he doesn't wear himself out by the time he begins composing Spider-Man: Homecoming after scoring so many blockbusters (Star Trek: Beyond, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, War for the Planet of the Apes) so close together.

perfect choice and one i foretold when the movie was announced.i also expect him to score captain marvel.but i remember hearing rumors about christopher young being attached to this.debney should also have another stab at the MCU, now that they start allowing classic scores.

FMR posted it after the thread appeared here. He must read the forum.

I'd nominate Christophe Beck. And no -- not because of the obvious "Ant-Man" score that pops into fans' heads, but because of this nifty clip loaded to youtube in 2007 where somebody took his score from "We Are Marshall" and inserted it into "Spider-Man 2":

wrong track.if you want to showcase becks abiltiy to score spider-man, try the same scene with the hydra from percy jackson.it even maintains the suspense of it, which the we are marshall music doesn´t.could someone try that out?

LOL

Giacchino just confirmed it on twitter, by the way. Looking forward to it. I do hope that he'll get more breathing space than was apparent in Dr. Strange.

if i had to pick one comic book guy I can tolerate it would be spiderman. Always enjoyed the story but this trailer, not my thing I'm afraid. really enjoyed tobey who played him in the 2000's I believe was when those came about.

I agree with you about the trailer. It didn't grab me at all.

In less agreement about Tobey. I liked him at the time because he was the only big screen Spidey.

But then I became one of the minority in loving the Garfield Spiderman movies.

I'm willing to give this a go though. Holland has seemed amiable enough in what I have seen of him as the new Spiderman. Not sure I'm such a fan of introducing all the "bells and whistles" tech suit given by Stark. But the second trailer makes it look as though as it may be a distraction as most of the action in it appears to take place in the first third of the film.

Having read the comic for the past few years, I can say that this Spider-Man seems to be the most faithful to the source material. And at least the score will be orchestral. I'll give it a shot.
