I have a petition going for a FULL release of the Willow score. Please sign if interested:

https://www.change.org/p/petition-for-a-complete-or-expanded-release-of-the-james-horner-willow-score

Its a financial thing- they might be willing to take another look at this if they think there will be interest.

I'll sign this thread, but petitioning the government won't help.

Tough one. Last I checked rights were tied up with Universal Music/Virgin/Capitol for music rights and Lucasfilm is the copyright owner so I would think you have to get their approval to expand which means involving Disney. While Fox was the last known dvd/Bluray distributor, doubt they have any involvement in terms of approving additional music.

Is this groundhog day? It's been noted over and over again petitions are useless. If it's possible one of the specialty labels will do it.

This has already been discussed (the OP made duplicate threads)

This is not a matter of "petitioning", it's a matter of financing.

Then again, if you get enough to petition, you might also get enough to finance. ;-)

I'm thrilled it's been over a decade since I've seen the movie. I can't remember any of the music left off of the album! Ignorant bliss over here!

I hope everyone jonesin' for more Willow gets their wish!

Me too - I was shocked, enlightened & frustrated that some very good scoring was left off the old lengthy cd. Will be tough, I've played the old a LOT, it'll be difficult to dig into a new edition if one happens someday.
Anyway, watch the film, see what's missing too!

And as MV said in the linked other thread, petitions do nothing. It's a shame really, some things I'd think could be moved along with a petition showing somebody else there is large demand, but I guess in reality the studios don't give a crap.

But the whole idea of a petition for this score and composer is way passed pointless. This isn't 1995 when we were all still wishing upon a star for studios to change their minds and holy grails to come out, this is 2016 and we know without being told so, that every single Horner is being looked at and the rights being negociated. This is one of his most famous and loved scores by the fans, that is with a studio Intrada has their foot in the door with -- it'll come, we just have to be patient.

You don't need a petition. It's on our list for UMG and Disney. It'll happen someday.

Great news Roger! Hopefully Kamen's Three Musketeers is also on your list for UMG and Disney.

Exactly. I mean, I'm quite satisfied with the current release, but I am sure, there will be an expanded release one day, and it might even be worth picking up. :-)

I wish the guessing games on the labels part & misbehaving on our end would quit, and there was more of this sort of post. I'm trying to compliment, not sure it's coming over as such, but this is great news. Just some inkling of hope, you know?

I'll go wait patiently now,
Sean

Thank you everyone for civil replies to my post. I am not a spammer or trying to cause trouble. I was sorta scared away after my first post, and didnt really want the reply emails. But Im pleasantly surprised. Thanks again, hope you have a good new year.

Just for future reference here and other websites, whether you are trying to be a spammer or not, if you come int oa board, post the same message in multiple threads and start two new threads with the same message, that's spamming. One thread was enough, or resurrecting an old thread on topic (but check a board's policies on resurrecting old threads first) and posting what you have to say, is also very sufficient.

It's been so long I can't even give an estimate of how much is missing. I only remember one cue missing, off hand.
