HI,

I thought I'd start a thread that we could use to ask MV or anyone else at La La Land Records anything about previous releases or new releases if they have time.

Here are mine right now.

1. Why did you guys release Speed 2 before Speed, were they both being worked on at the same time or could you not work on Speed 1 without first doing Speed 2?

2. Which project was held up the longest due to waiting for a sign off on the project even though the score was complete and ready to be sold?

3. How do you pick which John Williams or Hans Zimmer score to do, do their representatives tell you which of their titles are available for expansion? I know you can't get Star Wars but how does 1941 get worked on and released before a Jurassic Park? They are both great scores so I was just wondering about the order of things there. How do you get to do Broken Arrow first but not Black Rain or Backdraft?

4 Whose idea was it to to Dead Again as I love the score and was so happy to see an expanded release even though it is not a popular title.

Thanks for any info.

I would love to ask the labels a million questions too. Not sure they have the time to answer all of them.

I think I'd rather him spend his time striking deals and getting projects done then answering a MILLION questions about why you did this why did you do that, why did you use that art instead of this art. Why was this font used here and not there. All of us combined could literally ask enough questions that would require a full time person at La-La Land Records to respond to each one. smile

Let the labels get releases out smile

While I think that questions on new releases isn't needed because that's what half the FSM threads on here are about anyway, questions about PAST releases would be an excellent idea. I'd be interested in info on how the older titles were put together (without MV giving away trade secrets or details he can't discuss, obviously).

Yes, no doubt the labels are busy but I do think they get put off posting here because of the endless requests for new releases and not discussion of just-released titles. The third or fourth posts of many 'new release' threads seem to go along the lines of 'Great! But when are you going to release X Y and Z?' which can be a bit soul destroying when you've put so much effort into those new releases.

So, questions about past releases, can't see the problem. A good idea. Let's see if they bite! Can't hurt to try.

1. We chose to do Speed 2 first because it was a score I always wanted, but never got. Speed was an after thought.

2. We are going through 2 projects right now. One going on 3 years and another 2 years. Both are done and waiting for sign offs for various reasons

3. We work with what we can work with. A label's gotsta know it’s limitations. Working with Mr Williams’ and his people has been wonderful and is leading us to other exciting projects. We hope to work with Mr Zimmer again in the near future.

4. Dead Again was all me. I love the score and wanted every note of it.

5. I would go with chicken if you are counting calories. Then again, drop the tortilla and go naked and have both! Screw them carbs!

6. Ryan was dreamy, but Emma could be a prima donna…but man, she turned in a great performance!

7. HELL NO! The meat is round (and don’t start that cut it in half horseshit!)

8. How many scores are left from you that you have wanted to do if you had a label, and now do?

9. Are there any scores you are not interested in releasing at all?

10. Peanut butter and jelly seperately, or a canned combo of peanut butter and jelly?

If you answer "canned," I am boycotting La La Land forever.

Only question I have is are there any expanded or previously unreleased James Horner scores on the map for 2017?
