These days superhero movies are dull, heavy-handed, "edgy," and pretentious. When will comic book movies be allowed to be comic book movies again? Witty, tongue-in-cheek with big orchestral swashbuckling scores, primary colors, delightful for kids, clever for adults?

The popularity and budgets for superhero films have never been bigger, yet the last decade was almost a complete waste for the genre.
