Hans Zimmer will be the last composer who got people 'into' film scores.

Comparing a 13 year old who became a peace activist at the age of 10 and died tragically in a plane crash to a 17 year old diagnosed with Asperger's and OCD who is also trying to inspire change in the world seems a bit odd to me.

They are/were both passionate, inspirational and children who tried to make the world safer for all.

I remember Samantha Smith's story fondly--she was one year younger than me--and with nothing but total admiration.

I shared that admiration. I have a niece who was the same age as Samantha and idolized her. She had a scrapbook and was absolutely devastated when she was killed in the plane crash. We all were. Who knows what might have been?

Btw, you’re much younger than I thought you were.

Wow, I now have vague memories of the little girl who wrote a letter to the Russian President. This isn't something I would've remembered unless someone reminded me of this story. I had no idea what became of her, it was just a big story during the news cycle at the time. Very sad she died so tragically at such a young age.

Yeah, it took awhile for me to figure out Phelps was younger than me too! He just wasn't born in the right decade.
