Well we know why they're not releasing CD's. Its peanuts to them. Hardly profitable if at all. In an ideal world a mega company that produces "art" would take the bullet on a few things and release it so the masses can enjoy them.

If it was the masses, they probably would.

Okay not to the masses, but there was a time when a mega corp like Disney would green light a vanity project like releasing expanded editions of many of its classic scores on CD in the 90's. I imagine they didn't exactly make a killing on them.

May I suggest biting the bullet and springing for the Japanese release, despite the over-packaging?

I don't know anything about it. What's on it?

It's a 3 disc Japanese edition with the songs, instrumentals/karaoke/cover versions AND the only way to have the score, by Christophe Beck, on CD.

The annoying thing, with the big companies, is that in many cases, they won't be out of pocket, because the likes of Intrada and LLL are willing to pay for most of it. All our labels want is the company to okay it or sign off on it, so they can produce the product.
It's such a cack-handed way of dealing with the preservation of the art within the industry they produce and run.

Season 2.5 (set between last season two and season three):
When seemingly hostile Krill ships cross into Union space, the Orville intercepts. Captain Mercer learns they are en route to a planet that left the Union decades ago, under mysterious circumstances. Scans have discovered a moon-sized construct above the planet, and the Krill intend a preemptive strike against the presumed weapon. But is it?

Production of the new season has been suspended because the of the Coronavirus Craze. For a list of other shows that are suspending productions because of it, too, see here:

Not to beat a dead horse, but is a score release of Season 2 pretty much dead in the water?

Okay, I was hoping that the Orville would be in post-production.
But the video revealed that they were in the middle of shooting an episode when everything got shot down.
So yeah, nothing to expect anytime soon.

(...well the good thing is; they probably won't have to worry about doing a full orchestral score like in season 1 & 2.) wink
