I was re-listening to this for the first time in a while, and forgot how much I loved it. I also think it is due for a re-release and expansion - anyone here know if MV or someone from Intrada would / have expressed interest at taking a crack at it?

Before you inquire on an expanded, do you know how much music is missing? I think at times we all have a knee jerk reaction to just say, "hey how about expanding this or that." When at times the amount of music missing is at times very small. I know the original album is a solid almost 45 minutes in length. There can't be that much music missing. Though if an expansion did come, sign me up!

The Cliff is somewhat micro-edited, as well. This is my favorite of his, and it's not unlike LLLR to re-release an expansion that's very short as is (Pagemaster)

The film is coming out on Blu-ray on August 1. Extras include interviews with director Joseph Ruben, cinematographer John Lindley and actors David Morse, Wendy Crewson and Daniel Hugh Kelly. Elijah Wood and Macaulay Culkin didn't want to participate. https://www.kinolorber.com/product/view/id/4245

In case MV/Roger/Jose are reading this thread: I would buy a remastered & expanded version of this for SURE. I agree that it's one of Bernstein's best of the 90s. I think he was grateful to get out of comedies at the time (not that he didn't write great comedy scores!) and hungry for each new dramatic opportunity. Yavar

I'd love to have somebody release Bernstein's score for the first film in the series, 1988's "The Good Mother." That made me laugh out loud. But yeah in all seriousness I'd buy The Good Mother as well. Yavar

This one is so different from the norm for him, and I love it. The action tracks are great, but I think my favorite track might be "Susan".

The old cd is way OOP and I did miss that one. I hope we get a new issue this year! SAE has both a used copy (quite cheap) and a CD-R (from Amazon) listed -- not to contradict you, but for anyone who is looking for the score, it can be had from that source. It is a lovely score well worth having, and along with DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS and HOODLUM, one of the best of his latter scores... To digress a bit, I don't get why no one has produced a legitimate release (there was a b**t a few years back) of the terrific music Bernstein wrote for DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS (much of which, sadly, was dumped from the film in favor of period blues songs). A comprehensive release of the score cues (used and unused) together with the songs would be an instant buy for me! An expanded issue of DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS would be an instant buy for me too Dana, it's a wonderful Elmer Bernstein score.

I love THE GOOD SON. Excellent album as it is by the way. I would also buy in a flash an expanded release of the score from DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS! Hear, hear, all mighty Producers, please... We have been working on Devil for about 6 years. Looks like things are finally starting to fall into place for a 2018 release. MV

Amazing news about Elmer's Devil in a Blue Dress getting a release, MV! It's an excellent score. Wait...is THIS the mysterious LLL 1335 that's been tied up so long? (I'd thought that was The Great Race but I don't think you've even been working on that one for SIX years, and you'd said that was LLL 1372.) Yavar
