maybe you put too much score... considering BACK TO FUTURE soundtrack LP only had the main theme and the finale suite (2 cues out of 10) Good point! I would think if this were the mid-80's and we followed the original BTTF album as a template, the only score tracks included would the Main Theme and End Credits suite tracks, the last two on this current album. Yes, "Back to the Future" was an overture and end title, played by the 'Outtatime Orchestra,' sharing space with eight songs, and I am not sure if all the songs were even in the film. "Gremlins" had five Goldsmith cues, on the B-side, accompanying three songs. "Goonies" really ticked me off, nine songs and one Grusin suite!

My local HMV has 5 copies on display! Why-oh-why is this soundtrack not in chronological track order: main/end titles at end of disc 2, but what a magical listening experience from A S!

“Arty on the inside”. Great stuff right there. Try listening to "Everybody Runs" from Minority Report right after. That seemingly tired action sound Williams has been doing since that score sounds SO fresh and inventive after you hear Silvestri's "take" on it (I know Silvestri has also written string-based action, too, but this sounds more in line with Minority Report than Silvestri's own sound). Love "Arty On The Inside" all the same.

Finally nabbed the "RPO" Blu-ray and was thrilled to see Alan Silvestri discussing the score in one of the special features. He partly answered one of my questions, which I posted earlier in this thread, or maybe in Jon Broxton's review, but I was curious if anyone had deciphered the lyrics in ‘The Oasis,’ or if they knew what language they were singing? Per Alan, in Laurent Bouzereau's Blu-ray documentary, Spielberg wanted a choral theme for the entry into the OASIS and, because of Halliday's knowledge of Latin, he suggested a pidgin Latin phrase, 'ovum patrice tui.' As Alan says, "That whole opening piece is the second clue of the film in Latin and the chorus is 'father's egg, easter egg, find me, come find me...'" – rather lovely, I thought.

Picked this up on Amazon.ca new for $6.23. Had to have it delivered first so I could confirm it wasn't an elaborate prank.
