Let the war of "No!" and "Yes!" begin. I'm on the "No!" side.

Damn, I don't like that every magical childhood book is getting the dark and angsty treatment right now... Would have loved for this to have gotten a Golden Compass or Stardust type of adventure score. AWIT is actually a pretty dark and angsty book. Meg is downright moody, iirc. (I haven't read this again in something like 20 years.) OTOH, A Wind in the Door was just as whacked out when I was 28 as it was when I was 10 and I have never been able to make it through A Swiftly Titling Planet. Oh, and I love Djawadi, so this might be cool.

The score was mentioned in Entertainment Weekly's pan of the film: "So A Wrinkle in Time hits that unfortunate un-sweet spot common to big-budget science-fiction/fantasy, where the spectacle feels more summarized than experienced. (Not helping much: Ramin Djawadi’s oddly terrible score, screaming emotions like an overgrown thought balloon covering up its own illustration.)" Uh, oh. A film score with "emotions." We can't allow that in this day and age, now can we?

Best I can tell, Greenwood recorded his score overseas (as opposed to Ramin who recorded in LA) several months before Ramin was announced as the new composer.

Sad to hear that Djawadi got this one -- was hoping for a quality orchestral score. Forget it.

Yeah, I just don't believe that Jonny Greenwood did anything for a movie like this.

Samples sound horrible, as expected. Missed opportunity.
