I love, love, love, this score! Vintage Elfman as far as I'm concerned!

Agreed. Haven’t stopped listening to it on Spotify while the disc winds it’s way through the mail to me. Unfortunately, the concerto album and this one came out at the same time... but its been DUMBO all the time. Works well in the very underrated film too.

Didn't like this film...At All.
Ugly and murky looking, with a dull story and dull characters.
Didn't like the plot/story expansions either.
While old cartoon Dumbo was cute, I thought CGI Dumbo was odd and too weird and alien looking.
I just couldn't take to anything in this film.
Easily the best thing about it was Danny Elfman's score and even that was undermined, while watching the film, by the amount of lovely little score tracks of music that aren't on the OST release. There's 3 or 4 before the Stampede that were beaut.

The film is bad, yes. Bit of a fall from MISS PELEGRINE, which I actually thought was a delightful film playing to Burton's strenghts (his best since DARK SHADOWS).

Not at all. PELEGRINE was a good movie -- and the Margeson score a refreshing change of pace.

Looking back at Burton's filmog', the last one I really enjoyed was SWEENEY TODD, way back in 2007.
DARK SHADOWS, BIG EYES & MISS PEREGRINE weren't terrible to me (like DUMBO was), but I don't recall them lighting my balls either.
ALICE IN WONDERLAND was just annoying/boring CGI sh!t (like DUMBO was).

AIW was horrendous in every possible way other than the score. So much so I actually like watching the film only for the score.

Taking everything that should be bright and colorful and turning it dreary and dark is the bane of Hollywood nowadays.

Liked TODD and ALICE.
The rest range from poor to fair frown

He's always been quite uneven, but he's still one of my favourite directors.

In the last 10 years, ALICE was rather bad, but has a fantastic prologue. FRANKENWEENIE was mediocre, DARK SHADOWS was delightful. BIG EYES was really bad. PEREGRINE was a good effort again, and then DUMBO was rather poor. So it's been like a rollercoaster.
