And my respect for her just went away. If that's her idea of amazing work, I need Carrie Fisher's therapy dog.

Looking at Thor: Ragnarok, the foreign market saves their butt again. Based on production cost and domestic profits it would've been a financial bust.

That appears to be happening on a number of films in the last few years. Not a new phenomena, but I suspect it's happening to a higher degree now, what with all the polished shit being made.

It's an ever revolving door of meritocracy because they gotta keep it plain and simple for the masses at large.

Will Gary, like Jar-Jar before him, be "the key to all this"?

"Saves their butt" is kind of a weird choice of phrase - like the studio was completely unaware that other countries existed and didn't take the rest of the world into account when budgeting and promoting their film? They are aware of that market and rely on that market.

I don't disagree. But if you can't make a profit in your homeland, then there's something wrong with the system. They didn't need the foreign box office to make Jaws a financial success. Or Star Wars, or Godfather, or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, or Rocky, just think of any American made film that was a huge success domestically before the 2000's.

It's a different world now Sol.

The internet made sure of that. Jaws, Star Wars, Godfather, Butch Cassidy and Rocky didn't have instant reviews, Rotten Tomatoes or any of the other social media pressures that rule corporate thinking.

I thought the trailer for 7 Days In Entebbe looked good. I know it has been made into films before; however, I find it to be one of those events that is always worth retelling.

Julius Harris will take some beating, don't you know? The mannerisms, real or imagined stuck like limpets.
