While the disco-flavored scores by Silvestri are my favorite, I also enjoy John Parker's work on the show, especially when it's akin to the funk in his music for "Cannon".

SEASON 6:

The Luchi De Jesus episodes, as I said a while back I would cover. Since he didn't do that many, I am breaking them up to draw it out longer. The numbers by each episode title indicate which episode it was.

I'm not handling the Silvestri episodes (I'm presuming some label will do it one day), with the exception of one because it's connected in a way to an episode Luchi De Jesus scored.

  • 38:45 in. Begins as a non disco cue, a kind of relaxed patriotic march sound for the first minute, then it becomes a kind of laid back breezy version including sax's and a light non disco beat. About three minutes in the cue morphs away from that material and some very light disco touches work their way in.

    So it turns out my worries were completely wrong and I very much look forward to a release of his scoring to the show.

    I'm of two minds abut it though: On the one hand a Volume 5 sharing on the discs both composers, would take away room for all his good stuff, but on the other hand a set of scoring just of him, might not have the name draw to sell. I think two (maybe three) CD's would be needed just to cover his scoring.

    Coming back here to correct myself. The season one episode "Moving Violation" does feature a score credited to John Parker, and it's good.
