Yes, there is a beautiful love theme in Robin Hood and it appears several times in the score.

Incredible way to start the new year, thank you so much Intrada !

I really hope it sells well to open the way for more Kamen, especially The Three Musketeers and of course Highlander.

Can' wait to listen to the album, the samples really sound full-blooded.

I wonder if the liner notes will reveal something I've always wondered about this score -- like whether a lot of the climatic music for this movie was ghosted by someone else. The Prince of Thieves score was by all accounts a rushed affair (and had about fifteen orchestrators credited on it). The music for the big climax never really sounded like Kamen's style to me (and, significantly, Kamen did not include any of the music for Robin's fight with the sheriff on his original 1991 CD).

I know Bruce Babcock contributed at least one cue to Lethal Weapon, so it's not without precedent.

Maid Marion and Marion at the Waterful contain that theme. Bryan Adams song "Everything I Do, I Do it For You" is based on it. Michael discusses the theme in this lovely video:

Fantastic way to kick-off 2018.

One of my favourite scores from one of my favourite films.

Instantly ordered along with some James Horner goodness in the form of Troy and The River Runs Black.

Excellent news - a new Michael Kamen soundtrack release. Brilliant work by Intrada as always. Fab follow up to Damnation Alley!

That last action cue has Don Davis' fingerprints all over it (but I freely admit that I know nothing).

No songs, not complete.
Not complete, no purchase for me.
I can't believe in 2018 Music Labels have to be so assholes to do not give the rights for 30 years old songs.
Sorry but I will not buy another cd to put beside the one I own.
What a pity.
This is NOT the original soundtrack, this is the originale SCORE only.
A soundtrack should have all, both score and themes!

Really? The labels are "assholes" because they don't include the expensive song available cheaply elsewhere? And are you sure this isn't the complete score? I for one am glad to have a far superior score presentation and quite happy the song was left off.

The assholes are Warner and the other majors, not Intrada.
They deserv to lost billions for their pathetic politics.
A soundtrack without its songs is NOT "complete". The score may be complete, but not the soundtrack itself.
The "soundtrack" is what You can hear watching the movie (excepts dialogs and sfx).
No Love Theme and no Ending TItles track!!! This is crazy for me.
I have not bought Titanic 4 cd box for the same reason.
I want it all. Otherwise NOT BUY from me.

You said "Music Labels" -- that's Intrada, FSM, La La Land, etc. You meant studios.

And for some reason you seem to think music labels is a proper noun and needed to capitalized.

He/she may have a point about the soundtrack not being "complete" without the featured song(s), but that's not really the target audience for releases around these parts. You are splitting hairs if you're getting annoyed about the use of the term "soundtrack" rather than "score".

Isn't it only the one song in this case anyway?

It's not politics.

It's business and you have no idea what it takes to get clearances on these songs.
It's not just Warners, the singer, the musicians, their agency etc Royalty payments are a bitch.
What if the singer's publisher didn't want the songs on there?

I’m sure Bryan Adams’ label didn’t want Intrada cutting into their profits for The Bry Guy’s umpteenth “Best of” collection.
Seriously, I think there are like 5 of them. I like Bryan Adams and all but how many compilations is the label going to put out??

I understand Tyuan's perspective but like many others here I only care about the score. The lack of songs is usually a plus for me because it makes the score purely orchestral when played directly from the CD.

Yeah, it's sort of a no-brainer for me. If you want the "complete soundtrack," with all the songs, you buy the soundtrack, like the rest of the public. What's so tough about that? I usually want the complete orchestral score. Isn't that what this message board is about?

Sometimes there's a historical oddity like "Love Theme from Star Trek the Motion Picture," not easily available on CD, which merits inclusion. Otherwise, what's the point? Am I missing something?
