It took almost a year to get Winter Soldier and 20,000 Leagues back in stock, and even longer for LaLaLand to restock The Fury (which is out of stock again). In the land of one CD manufacturer, the one with dibs is the king.

If that is the case, why don't they farm them out to overseas pressing plants? There's still one in my country:

I take it you are referring to Main Title (0:30) and End Credits - Roger Rabbit Medley (Film Version) (6:32)?

Perhaps they had to use film stems for those (not sure why they would be lossy though). Isn't this version of the End Credits editorially created in any case?

Yes to both questions. Not sure. I asked Roger and IIRC he didn't seem to realize they were compressed. As the end credits are an edit and the main title is really just a few seconds, it could be both tracks were created in haste at the time and retained differently from the rest of the score. Total speculation on my part but that's the only thing that comes to mind.

In any event I remixed the end credits for myself to create a track that's probably 90% uncompressed or better. Really happy with it. smile

How did you accomplish that?

I went through the score and found the pieces. The transitions in the original mix were simple enough to recreate without too much difficulty. Though there was a piece about 20 seconds long (I think) that I couldn't find.

Ah okay. I thought when you said "remixed" that you applied some sort of filter or equalization to make it sound superficially better.

You all mocked me when I railed against multi disc releases!

Well, I'm not so stupid after all, it seems.

Had this been a 1-2 disc set it would probably have been repressed.
But. factories and labels just can't handle such a massive project.

After "But" is not where a period goes...

Had this been a 1-2 disc set it would probably have been repressed.

That has no bearing...

I doubt that our soundtrack retailers would want to deal with the soul-slurping, Eldritch horror that is international shipping.

  • just order some music that has yet to be re-leased and ast intrada to hold back you order untel they can add ROGER RABBIT to it

You mean like a "pre-order" function? If only.

B-b-but, we mock you regardless of topic. razz

Not nessasary a pre-order. But you need to be fast when making an order and Then send a mail that they Can read before they ship your order

    Those hamsters work fast

But in the end i suppose you can look at is having pre-ordered Roger Rabbit

I am still having trouble on finding the 3 disc Intrada album to purchase. I need help to locate it and hopefully it is in stock too.

Did anyone on this thread ever listen to the album and report on the sound quality?

Sound quality is stunning. Presentation is excellent. Having the film version of the end credits and Horner’s Tummy Trouble is fantastic.

What about Amy Irving's song? Does it sound slightly muddy and not crystal clear as the original album from the late 80's? I have a download copy of this 3 cd set and was playing it on my computer and just want to know a difference in sound quality of this song or not.

I also need to buy this..... (If they are looking to gauge sales of a re-pressing).

Had this been a 2 disc set, 1/3 of the stock would still be available for purchase.

I don't want to purchase the four 80's lp's by Foghat on Ebay yet, cause I don't want to put myself short in money in case I do find this cd set for sale.

Good news. Roger Feigelson just updated on the status of it being back in stock?

" Very soon! Repressing as we speak"
