Does this mean that there is a possible chance of "Firefox" getting some sort of CD release?
It does not bother me how long I need to wait for this personal Holy Grail of mine, as long as it happens...
So please Roger, keep doing what you are doing - no need to rush it... just as long as we finally see that green light!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

No chance for now.

He likes scores, he just doesn't seem to be interested in doing business with labels who want to release ones connected to him.
Lukas mentioned, on quite a few occasions, how it was almost impossible to get Malpaso (Eastwood's company) to jump on board a new/expanded CD release.
I wanted to know if that was still the main sticking point.

I’ve had several conversations with Eastwood’s folks and they’ve been nothing but supportive. I’ve taken several runs at Firefox even locating the master Jarre had prepared. There’s something on the WB end that is holding it up but it’s not clear what.

Told ya so, anything's possible. I hope this clears up someday & wonder where the logjam is.
Jarre didn't work at Warners much, I don't see anything, or anyone, in the credits that would be a potential problem, or a prior relationship that involved a rejected score of sorts. It's not like going at a Goldenthal score :-(

I had to add more thanks for the effort - i shudder to think how awkward and frustrating those calls are to studios. I don't envy but admire you at those times.

Good luck Roger, we're all counting on you,
Sean

FIREFOX is a great score. The electronic part kinda sounds like Jarre took lessons from Wendy Carlos. And yes, I am familiar with Carlos’ work on THE SHINING and TRON.

LaLaLand could take a stab at FIREFOX too given their track record with WB, or maybe Tadlow could do a re-recording with Carlos herself or Vangelis doing the electronic portion and Nic Raine & TCOPPO the orchestral.

Sure LalaLand could take a stab and get the same response we got.

Thank you for the information and sorry you chased it to a dead end twice. Hopefully someone at WB will wake up and let you release it. I think in this case, the original would be preferred over a re-recording.

I found this response regarding the "FIREFOX" score on the "Intrada" website - which was posted by Roger Feigelson back on the 21st July 2017...

"Yes it's one of my holy grails. When Malpaso was on board and we located the elements (which was a challenge), I was very excited. Only to have my dreams dashed!"

My question is:
Since three years have passed - is there anyway of trying to get this Holy Grail released? Please? We have located the elements - so please? Any (good) news?

Any theories as to what Warner's objections might be to a soundtrack release of "Firefox?"

Firefox has been a holy grail of mine for years--I've watched the last 45 minutes of that movie more times than I can count, and the score is a huge factor--once the plane gets in the air it's tremendously exciting. Silva Screen did a nice rerecording of the end titles but I hope that's not the final word on the music...

We had made great progress on that front, too. And then they stopped licensing. So who knows where things go from here.

Roger, thanks for the update. This suggests if it can happen it will happen!

Wow!
Actually – this score is my major “unreleased” Holy Grail. I always mention it as my “most wanted” possession in life!
Thank You very much for the update Roger! As long as I now know; there is hope… possibly – we might have to wait three more years for the “Firefox” to take off – but that is fine with me!

Love to get Firefox. My only Jarre score I really like.

I second that and Maurice Jarre is so sadly missed. Ryan's Daughter is another score that deserves proper treatment. Existing CD has awful sound.

Love to get Firefox. My only Jarre score I really like. I doubt it ever happens. We looked into this. Big issues.
