The music was great. The opening sequence was classic De Palma. Wonderful. Unfortunately, the middle and the end reflected all the cuts to this movie. I can only hope the complete movie as filmed by De Palma will someday be released.

I keep seeing people post about this being some bastardized version, but I'm pretty sure I've ready that he's said this is his cut. If that's wrong, let's have some links.

Below is a good review of the movie, but it mentions "heavily cut" and the desire to see the full cut.

But maybe it is incorrect.

Bruce, here is another link that alludes to a 148 minute movie and that De Palma distanced himself from the movie.

According to De Palma himself, the film was not recut:

The final film does seem cobbled together - more "Alan Smithee" than Brian De Palma - but I believe this is because of exceptionally poor shooting conditions and De Palma not overseeing post-production, though a script that wasn't much to begin with certainly doesn't help. The whole 148-minute cut rumor stems from Wikipedia and IMDB entries in early 2018 (before Donaggio had recorded his score) listing that as the running time.
