Legendary Charles Aznavour, 93-year-old, has more than 80 years of career behind him, but in 2018 we celebrate his 70-years recording career.
Comedian and amateur dancer to the theater from the childhood and the adolescence during 1930s, it is after the meeting with Pierre Roche at the beginning of 1940s which Aznavour puts himself professionally in the writing. And it is Jacques Canetti, on April 28th, 1948, who engraves in the wax the first recordings of the duet.

It's official!
I've only recently become aware of the guy, but after hearing a pile of his CDs, and checking him out on YouTube, I've come to the conclusion that Charles Aznavour is The Coolest Guy In The World.
I used to think it was Sinatra. But I was totally wrong. It's Aznavour.
I dont think I've ever heard of Chuck. Is he France's Sinatra?
I've always really liked 'Yesterday When I Was Young' though I have to admit my favourite version of it is Andy Williams'. 'She' was also a big hit. I have a Christmas CD recorded in Vienna with Charles and his big mate Domingo which is pretty good.
Oui. And I'm sure classy M. Aznavour would tip his hat to this old fella who knew a little something about dancing that way (not to mention singing)...
"Une Enfant" = "A Young Girl Of Sixteen" I remember as a kid watching Noel Harrison sing the English version on "Hulabaloo". My (cool, smug) friends and I burst out laughing at how serious Harrison's version seemed at the end. "....Dead!"
Aznavour's original(?) ends the same way; only learned that many years later.
