When do we get a full score release from this movie? It's one of Hans' Best scores, one of the few he scored from a quiet low key drama and deserves the full treatment. There has got to be at least 30 minutes of score from the film and the 30th anniversary is almost here. Let's get this one done already!
Completely agree! And throw in a complete Green Card while we’re at it!
How much score in the film that is not on the album?
That was my first question. I can't recall any music that in the film that I specifically remember as oh my I want that music as it's not on the album. Does anyone know how much or any is left off the original CD? IF there is anything of substance, I'd be fine with an expanded, but I can't recall much to any music left off.
I think that if anyone wrote directly to Hans Zimmer, who is very active on social media, you would be able to get answers to those questions and much more.

Back in Y2K I wrote that "his music graced Rain Man, As Good As It Gets and Driving Miss Daisy, 3 movies I thoroughly enjoyed. Most folks... would probably look at me with eyes rolling for mentioning Daisy; c'est la vie. And that's okay for I have no idea why Thin Red Line gets praised so much, I thought it did positively nothing for the movie. "
Out of the films mentioned I've since only purchased the soundtrack to AGAIG. Re Daisy, I view its main theme much the way I've viewed Mr. Silvestri's Forrest Gump in that they both set up and made the rest of their respective scores. Wonderful memorable themes to say the least.

If DMD has material outstanding then sure I'd purchase again & GC.
What Note for Note done on Thelma & Louise + Rain Man recently was good for fans who missed but wouldn't work for me, sound appreciations doesn't convince me a whole lot with-out extras.
The score for DMD was to be a Georges Delerue one. Australian born director Bruce Beresford was eagerly awaiting to work again with him but producers Daryl Zanuck and Lili fini Zanuck really wanted Hans Zimmer to score the movie. Apparently, they had the final word on that matter, as producers. Not a bad choice really, it is a solid score from Mr Zimmer. What a Delerue score would have been ? we'll never know obviously.....

I didn't know that. So Delerue was knocked out by Zimmer twice (the other being, of course, REGARDING HENRY)? [Oops, posted at the same time as FB].
Be that as it may, DRIVING MISS DAISY is a beautiful, earthy blues score.
