Well, I do love all animals a lot. (Well, not cockroaches, I admit.) My sister and I get our love of animals from our mom, who tends to save any and every stray that comes along.

Are Betta fish high maintenance? (Meaning, how often would I have to walk them?)

Don’t bother - it’s too much of a drag.

Do you still have Norman and Cliff, or have they gone to the great dojo in the sky?

I had to google what 'betta fish' is. Never owned one. But:

Interestingly, while I've never owned a "proper" pet in my life, I did own an aquarium (or fish tank) as a kid. For a couple of years, at least. I must have been 7-8 years old. I can't remember all the types in it, but there were two big Loricariidae swimming on the bottom that grew bigger every day. There were some gold fish, and a bala shark. One morning, I woke up to a gruesome sight -- one of the gold fish were floating dead at the top, with one of its eyes hanging out; it had been nibbled at by the bala shark. My dad subsequently flushed the offender down the toilet (very un-PC and un-NOAH with contemporary eyes).

After that incident, it didn't last long untill we sold the tank off. Just as well; the lights emanating from it kept me up many a night.

Do they still do Betta Max?

That's the big version. It won't fit in a tank.
