Anyone else disappointed in the second season of THE TERROR?

I guess the premise is far less interesting (demons in human form during Japanese internment camps in the US during WW2). But there's also something about the slow, "soapy" intrigue, and the fact that it isn't scary for 5 seconds. No sense of isolation or unease as in the brilliant first season. I'm a bit bored, to be honest. Hopefully, it picks up a bit towards the end here, but I had hoped for something far, far more visionary after the first season.

Not seen it yet, Thor but am going to on the next few weeks. I thought the setting was a very jnteresting idea but wasn't over-excited to hear it's a ghost story. I don't usually find them scary in the least. How's the music in it?

I haven't noticed much music, actually (except for the opening credits).

Yeah, well the premise is not uninteresting in and of itself (it's just less interesting to me than the isolated Arctic setting of the first season), but I'm not too thrilled with what they've done with it. I'd be curious to hear what you, or anyone else, thinks once they've seen it.

Yah, will let you know.

I really enjoyed the first series. I seem to love snow-based stuff and loved the isolated setting and the time period, that age of exploration. I'd read the book, which i enjoyed, though struggled with the last 50 pages or so. And they ditched most of the problems i'd had with the book in their adaption. The first series could have dropped the beast (or made it just a hungry polar bear) and i'd still have enjoyed it, and it would have worked. It was so well acted and written. I also loved the sets, some of them had a bit of stageyness to them, but i thought it worked with the claustrophobia and i enjoyed the overall look. I could rewatch that show today.
