YELLOWSTONE is a soapy affair with mostly stock character-types, though a few interesting ones (the son who is married to a Native American woman for example), just interesting enough to keep me watching from week to week. I keep thinking I want to see Kevin Costner's character duke it out with Pierce Brosnan's old dude from THE SON... I mainly notice the music when it is screechy and irritating, which it is several times per episode. I'll listen more carefully but haven't heard much so far that would entice me to buy this. Hey, who knew that Brian Tyler has the same hair stylist as Conan O'Brian!
I just started watching and I hate it! Lol. Another show about rich families ( filled with vile people) battling mergers and takeovers....ranchers battling developers...Indian casino owners... No one I can relate to. And that broad with the big hits reciting lines like she memorized them for a test? At least she showed boobage ( barely)
Not gonna o stick with it, Dana.
Ps. I liked THE SON mainly cuz of the flashbacks and BROSNAN. And the conflicts among families and ethnic groups had some gravitas.
Join Brian Tyler today, Wed 7/1 at 4PM PST on the Film Music Network Facebook page for an interactive discussion and Q&A about his film scores and the music for Yellowstone! Hope to see you there!
ShitTunes-only release. So, as always, no CD = no sale.

Random post, but I came across the comments for the season 1 soundtrack on Amazon. It was a fun read, lol
"It was all instrumental “prairie” music. I expected it to be various artists collection with songs played on the show. Gave it to my father in law because he will love it."
"This is not the soundtrack of Yellowstone. It's simply background music. It does not contain ANY of the actual songs used in the various episodes. It's 24 tracks of background music and much of it sounds alike. I really looked forward to giving this as a gift. When I did give it, I was embarrassed at what was actually on the disc."
Season 2 had two different score releases. One with "singles" and one full regular OST. Anyone knows if the "singles" cues are also on the OST but with different titles? Do I need both releases?
