"Music Score by Johnny Williams: Theme by Bernard Herrmann" Gosh.

Yup. To put it mildly… one would expect an album of music from this series to sell quite well to film music fans despite its obscurity. smile

Has it ever been explained what the criteria are for giving some releases the "Classics Collection" moniker and others not?

The 22nd title in the line (19th released by La-La Land) is Death of a Gunfighter & Skullduggery by Oliver Nelson

Speaking of Oliver Nelson and Universal, how about a multidisc "Night Gallery" release.

Finally an Oliver Nelson release in the Universal Classics Collection! Hopefully there's more to come. smile

Is there really the audience to make this viable?

Is there really the audience to make this viable?

Remember Taylor White (Creature Features), who managed to get 1,444 backers to chip in $171,207 for The Jerry Goldsmith Companion by Jeff Bond?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nightgalleryart/the-jerry-goldsmith-companion

Well, before that he managed to get over $150,000 for two editions of a Night Gallery book:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nightgalleryart/rod-serlings-night-gallery-an-after-hours-tour2nd-edition

So yeah, I'd say there's an audience for Night Gallery. I regularly see it mentioned by film music fans. Maybe not quite as much as Columbo or The Six Million Dollar Man, but it's not too far behind in terms of beloved TV music of the era.

That's what I was thinking, maybe a 300 copy run. I had high hopes for Universal Film Music Classics, but the whole thing seemed to peter out real fast.

By peter out, do you mean the lack of regular or frequent releases? Still, these Oliver Nelson titles give me hope for more "fringe" releases, as has been demonstrated with the Heritage/Classics line.

Huh? It's at 22 titles and counting!

That wasn't a multiple disc release.
