Interesting item in yesterday's New York Times: apparently Peter Jackson is contemplating a remake of King Kong as his next project, once he's done with the LTR trilogy. The original King Kong has long been on my list of best movies ever, and I generally don't like the idea of remaking near perfect works of art (imagine, for example, a remake of Casablanca without Bogie or Peter Lorre). But I must admit that I am intrigued--even a little bit excited--at the prospect of Peter Jackson having a go at this. Wonder who will score it, if it comes to fruition. Reagrds, Gary

"De people, dey'a cry when de monkey, he'a die." -- Producer Dino DiLaurentiis of his then-upcoming production of KING KING (1976) If ever there was A WRONG Producer to create A KING KONG Remake, it WAS Dino DiLaurentiis... Granted, he did good on BARBARELLA. But "good" isn't near enuf for KING KONG. And Dino's KONG is a pathetic movie. Peter Jackson has delivered two (out of 3) absolutely incredible movies in his Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and...as I see it...if this man wants to re-do KING KONG, I say, LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!!
