Had a listen last night. Not surprisingly, a beautifully conceived and enjoyable score. Clever in its construction and deftly handled as far as balancing orchestra with electronics. Shapiro is one of the best working in Hollywood today. There's really nothing he cannot do.

Shapiro is one of the best working in Hollywood today. There's really nothing he cannot do. .... and that's why it's about time he started getting more high profile projects and getting a shot at the blockbusters. The same goes for Christopher Lennertz and Bear McCreary. Agreed. Shapiro's Captain Underpants from 2017 was and is one of the best superhero scores composed in the last 2 decades. Then compare that to his eerie and atmospheric score to The Invitation. Such diversity.

Loved the film, loved the score. Shapiro continues to show that he's one of the best. The score is even better in film context where it manages to carve it's own space among the French songs peppered throughout the film. It's even got a real theme. Wish the score producers would reconsider a disk release but the ITunes version is a wonderful consolation prize. I'm very glad Shapiro seems to have forged a long term relationship with Paul Feig (who, IMHO, has redeemed himself for the misfire that was the distaff GHOSTBUSTERS.)

Shapiro continues to delight and amaze. I do wish someone at MCU would give the guy a chance to compose a really terrific superhero score as we all know he's capable of (Captain Underpants). I know this won't sound good, but I'd prefer a Captain Marvel Shapiro score to be perfectly honest, based on what I've heard from his canon vs the other composers'. Just my opinion of course.

I mean the title alone is silly, and the animation in the trailer did nothing to make me ever want to watch it. I really disliked the art style actually, and it looked even more childish than Boss Baby from what I can remember. The score is fantastic. Shapiro played it serious as far as the music content in many cases. yeah it's over the top at points but there's a lot of really solid material on this score.
