Played this CD again yesterday and the big, magic mystery music in the early tracks is similar to that Goldsmith V'Ger/Poltergeist style that Wallfisch also used near the end of It Chapter 2.
There's also a unique musical 'voice' to Wallfisch now that I'm really starting to pick up on, despite the heavier processing of his scores since his time spent in Zimmer-Jail.

What a magnificent score. Superb main theme. Wallfisch really wrote one of the best superhero scores of the last decade, and it unfortunately was under appreciated (by me, too).

It really makes sense to go through one's library of scores and give those a second chance which one could not for a myriad of reasons find the time and opportunity to really delve into.

Coincidentally I listened to this today having not played it for months and it really was an excellent listen. A very good score with a belter of a main theme.

I spun this yesterday as well and it still sounds terrific. I find the detail in the writing to be quite refreshing. Wallfisch coming from orchestrating and conducting reveals how well he knows the Orchestra and how to write for it.

Playing this now and it is indeed better than I remember it.
It's worth it for that retro-John Williams-like opening title theme alone.
Good old fashioned fun.
The CD can get a bit dense and overlong, that's why I'm feeling 'a whittle' coming on.

Both Shazam! and Elfman’s under-appreciated Justice League are the only DCEU scores* I own and actually like.

*Excluding Pemberton’s Birds Of Prey which I still haven’t heard or seen (for that matter).

Birds of Prey (movie) is bad, terrible bad. As for the score, I enjoyed it more than Into the Spider-Verse.

I quite like Danny Elfman's JL, the problem is, that themes (JW's Superman and DE's Batman themes) dosen't work with this interactions of this characters, and i consider Shazam! much better score.
