If it's solo this could be good, great even...he wasn't able to salvage Blade Runner 2049's score for me (even though I really liked the film otherwise).
It's the only thing I've heard from Wallfisch that makes me think he's got real chops. Assuming it wasn't just a fluke or an orchestrator doing all the heavy lifting for him, hopefully he'll land a project sooner or later that will allow him to tap into this sound again!
Is it naive or even old-fashioned in the 21st Century to hope, wish even, that this (second) big screen depiction of Captain Marvel ... ok, Shazam ... has a theme -- a hummable, melodic, memorable, major chord hero's theme -- as recognizable as Williams wrote for Superman or Indiana Jones, or Horner for Willow or Rocketeer, or Goldsmith for Supergirl, or Safan for The Last Starfighter, or Broughton for Silverado, or Rowland for The Man from Snowy River? (And did anyone else hear similarities to Rocketeer in the Justice League Unlimited episode "Clash" for the Captain Marvel leitmotif?)
Wallfisch is a spectacularly good composer. SUMMER IN FEBRUARY and DESERT DANCER are so beautiful, they're too die for. He did well on BR too. I'd welcome any new score from him, orchestral or electronic.

I caught Desert Dancer today and it's a powerful film made even more impactful by Wallfisch's lovely score.
The only other Wallfisch score I have is Summer In February which is another lovely score.

Yes he's very talented. I like a fair bit of his stuff too. The Peter Pan material is exquisite. Thanks Yavar for linking that btw, since I'd never heard it up until recently.
He is indeed a good " newcomer". I really like his melodic approach in some cases. GAMBA and PETER PAN was nice. But IT was pretty weak ..not to say contraproductive in a way..too much " listen now comes the scare " moments for me.( well the movie itself was a bit weak in terms of transporting the horror instead of just a constant " Boooo " for younger viewers) But nevertheless I ' m looking forward to his take on SHAZAM! Hoping for a great theme .

Summer in February is stunning...but I think my fave of his so far has been Bitter Harvest...really great stuff...the opening track alone sold me.
