Cone pitched a great game last night..The Expos are no slouches. I just hope he has enough gas in the tank to win his 200th game this season..It was nice to see him back..Although, I wish he wore his old number "44", the one he wore on his first go round with the Mets..He's wearing 16 now as a "tribute" to Doc Gooden..Why is anyones guess..
Glad that Coney landed on his feet for one more shot. If he pitches in the next Yankees-Mets series the Yankee fans will all give him a great ovation before the game as we did his first time back as a Red Sox player.
(we don't forget the great things a player does for us after they leave)
How can they do anything for you after they leave?
By letting their Yankee experience rub off them and make them a class act after they've added themselves to the annals of Yankee greatness and moved on when it becomes time.
Coney's track record of Yankee greatness speaks for itself and it's something we'll keep applauding him for no matter which team he plays for (as opposed to the fickle Boston fans with Boggs, Clemens etc.)
