For those that donated at a level where you get a FREE Intrada CD, might I persuade you if you haven't gotten it yet to pick-up, Rocket Gibraltar by Andrew Powell. Gorgeous album, great presentation. You won't be disappointed. The buzz on this is shockingly all positive.

For Your Consideration
Rocket Gibraltar by Andrew Powell

PS: For those who may think I make profits from the sale of each Rocket Gibraltar sold, I do not. I make zero profits from this album. It's great music and I know many would thoroughly enjoy this album. smile

Today I listened to the Gerhardt Tiomkin album on RCA. I basically liked everything I heard except for the over-the-top final track with the chorus.

I don't have much more Tiomkin than that. I have "The Old Man and the Sea" and some 1950s industrial LP.

Maybe you would like "Search for Paradise" if you knew more about it, or maybe not. It's over the top but that's what some of us love about it. The full original soundtrack with narration is available on CD from the man who owns the rights in Australia. I have it and love it even with the campy 1950s narration.

This will give you a better idea what its like:

Search For Paradise is one of Tiomkin's great scores, but it already exist in at least 3 editions of varying lenghth and quality. The longest (possibly complete) is almost 40 mn long, without narration, on RCA.

Just got Roger’s email announcing the recording dates in June. But he says they are also going to record a second album. Is anyone willing to fess up that they know what it is?

Do you mean they’ve already decided what the next Kickstarter will be or that they’ll simply be recording another score to go along with Dial M?

It’s not a Kickstarter.

I’m not necessarily saying it won’t be the Herrmann score Bill was considering recording after Quartet did Bride Wore Black considering we currently have no idea what the other score will be, but for all we know, it might be something else like one of Tiomkin’s other Hitchcock scores (Shadow of a Doubt, Strangers on a Train, or I Confess).

Of the three Tiomkin scores mentioned, I hope it might be I CONFESS . If not that one, then STRANGERS ON A TRAIN.

I'd rather hope for LOST HORIZON but that's just me. smile
That one would be probably way too expensive to do, though... so perhaps KS might be more likely...

If it is Herrmann it would be nice to finally get a decent sounding version of ON DANGEROUS GROUND.

Or since the update specifically mentions "album" and not "score" perhaps it is finally FACE OF A FUGITIVE / BLACK PATCH.
