SEASON 1:

The volume is very low on all the loads. The loads are sped up some.
As noted in a prior thread, I defacto use a season number even if a series only had one season.

This show has the most inadvertently hilarious opening titles ever. There is zero action. Everyone is standing around doing nothing. Your tax dollars at work.

Anything to do with this Precinct?

Kidding, of course. Very nice selection of music.

"Continuing Season 1" -- did you accidentally edit/replace your first post Justin, rather than replying to it?

I have a ready-made template where I can fill in the episode title, composer name, and time stamps, which includes the header with the season. I didn't notice until you pointed it out.

They actually captured the average squad room quite accurately.

TV shows glorify action, but most police work is a relentless barrage of paper work, usually filled in triplicate.

Because it's storming and the power may go out and I could loose everything I've noted, I'm posting in chunks. So, chunk one:

    Continuing SEASON 1:

  • 24:26 in.
  • 33:22 in.
  • 36:11 in.
  • 37:55 in. A long cue, at about five minutes in length.

    Chunk two:

    "Til Death"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXSbZbwzCVE

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 13:28 in.
  • 40:49 in.
  • 41:29 in.

    "The Heckler"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYJOugnUGC8

    Highlights:
  • 2:25 in.
  • 19:56 in.
  • 21:50/23:41 in.
  • 31:26 in.
  • 34:47 in.

    "Run, Rabbit, Run"
    By: Morton Stevens

  • 28:11 in.

  • 35:33 in.

    Final chunk.

    "Man in a Jam"
    By: Pete Rugolo
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6osXFPnlUI

This is Rugolo's only effort for the series.

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 1:20 in.
  • 10:23 in.
  • 11:32 in.
  • 15:16 in.
  • About 28:10 in.
  • 30:24 in.

There's nothing wrong with the score, so I don't know why he didn't do any more. I suspect he was simply friends with Stevens and Stevens pulled a little weight to get a friend some work.

"Give the Boys a Great Big Hand"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvktFJ8-HKA

    Highlights:
  • 38:34 in.

    Slim pickens.

    "Out of Order"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzDuj-T-S8g

    Highlights:
  • 17:43 in.
  • 22:21 in.
  • 34:02 in.
  • 39:56 in.
  • 40:47 in.

I should have the series finished Friday (that'll also be when Goldsmith comes in with an effort).

I picked up the DVD set when it was first released. Some great early Mort Stevens scoring on the set that I was really looking forward to.

Thanks, Justin for your usual great cue breakdown on this show!:-)

  • 37:25 in.

    "Feel of the Trigger"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlLxhZt8D7E

    Highlights:
  • 10:31 in.
  • 13:00 in. You'd think you were listening to score from "The Andy Griffith Show" here.
  • 31:31 in.
  • 34:22 in. There's a brief lull before the cue ends.
  • 36:48 in.
  • 39:44 in.

    "Killer's Choice"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szu74B6OVJ4

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 43:03 in.

    "Square Cop"
    By: Morton Stevens
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjSEWiZVhtE

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 1:39 in.
  • 3:53 in.
  • 10:05 in.
  • 14:00 in.
  • 22:27 in.
  • 26:05 in.
  • 28:02 in.
  • 33:25 in.
  • 36:42 in.
  • 40:16 in.

    "Step Forward"
    By: Jerry Goldsmith
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa_XBvwKWeo

This is Jerry's only effort for the series.

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 3:00 in.
  • 4:13 in.
  • 6:55 in.
  • 8:49 in.
  • 11:36 in. And after the commercial break.
  • 15:43 in.
  • 2530 in.
  • 27:17 in.
  • 27:54 in.
  • 31:07 in.
  • 33:02 in.
  • 34:19 in.
  • 42:04 in.
  • 43:37 in.

    That's almost every single cue.

I think Jerry's wonderfully captured the mute wife with his musical ideas.

Just my opinion, but I think this is one of his best scores to an episode of any TV series. It's markedly different than another one of his best scores to an episode of a TV series ("A Head of Hair" from "Have Gun - Will Travel"), but I'm hoping others will enjoy it. Remember, the load is sped up, so you're not hearing the score how it's supposed to sound.

    Finishing the series:

    "Idol in the Dust "
They are all by Morton Stevens from this point on.

    Highlights:

  • 26:23 in.
  • 30:37/31:12 in.
  • 37:09 in.
  • 38:38 in.
  • 42:20 in.

    "Ramon"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXtAospPD6k

    Highlights:
  • 8:40 in.
  • 13:12 in. And after the commercial break.
  • 1506 in.
  • 16:19 in.
  • 18:24 in.
  • 31:36 in.
  • 32:54 in.
  • 34:17 in.
  • 37:12 in.

A lighter more playful score in the first half.

    "New Man in the Precinct"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu6BHiXeaWc

    Highlights:
  • 1:36 in.
  • 2:59 in.
  • 22:24 in.
  • 30:03 in.
  • 35:53 in.
  • 39:30 in.

    "The Last Stop"
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgN4H3IS12Q

    Highlights:
  • 1:12 in.
  • 15:53 in.
  • 31:42 in.

"Girl in the Case" (final episode of the series)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfobdDUZRi4

  • 3:32 in.
  • 9:04 in.
  • 13:44 in.
  • 30:22 in. The club source music.
  • 34:22 in.

Tomorrow I'll start a new, although shorter series, with some ultra cool jazz scoring. All the names will be extremely familiar (that includes you too, MRAUDIO).
