I was watching the telly last week and an advert came on for a new car (Ford Focus). It started with a CGI robot butterfly hatching and flying up and about, over land and cities, attracting lots of other butterflies, who all then flew down on a roof together and merged, to create said new car. As well as impressive FX, the music immediately stood out as something I liked. My ears fairly tingled with delight. Grabbing the tablet, I typed in the search-age and low and behold... http://www.sounds-familiar.info/2018/09/ford-focus-the-beauty-of-change/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdHSc_qCBhU So it was from a Disney film nature doc The Crimson Wing - Mystery Of The Flamingos* (track 8, Transformation, fact fans). One week later, CD bought for the price of a Costa Coffee, and it's all very nice indeed. Anyone else seen or heard? Or similar findings perhaps? *I think the score, as a whole, has a 'Mark Isham when he was good' vibe about it

Glad someone’s finally mentioned this hidden gem. I came across CRIMSON years ago and have never seen it discussed here. Lots of gorgeous and tranquil string and piano work with distinctly very little brass. It’s a more intimate nature documentary score than what people are used to hearing but perhaps provides a more cohesive listen on album because of its strong themes. Favourite tracks are “Soda”, “Transformation” and “Life Of The Bird”. I listened to the album on repeat while I painted my daughters nursery and it was perfect for that. It almost made the experience pleasant. So count two of us who love this score.
