I love me some bananas!! Probably my favourite fruit. But eating them in that perfect moment can be choice. I don't like them too hard and too green. Nor too soft/bruised/mushy. I've heard they stay fresher/last longer if you leave them on the stem, breaking one off at a time. And putting them in the fridge is a No-No. Please share your banana wisdoms.
When bananas begin to get "chalky" tasting, slice them up and put them among strawberries and blueberries. Slicing them seems to reduce the chalky factor significantly, and the other two fruits are just plain delicious.
I like it when they've gone too soft to eat, so Carole (and sometimes me, but mainly Carole) puts them in a blender with milk and makes me a scrummy milkshake!! Yum!
