Unfortunately many of the old linked interviews are probably gone... if you are aware of anything missing or available as a backup somewhere, please, post the links here.

Excellent. Thank you for putting in the work.

Thanks... it was busy 6 weeks on this one. smile

I may also add a few more pages for MANY of unreleased works - fortunately I had saved samples from many of them when they used to be available on the "old" official website and have vanished since.

At least for now there is a few samples from FIRST THEY KILLED MY FATHER which never made it even to the official website. And there is a couple more upcoming projects just waiting for the official confirmation smile

I hope very much you'll provide samples from my favorite Beltrami score, The Invisible. I know you have before, not sure if you're still able. It's required listening!

That one is definitely on the list smile
Still it would be nice to finally find the actual film version of the finale...

So far it is all officially released works + promotional releases (The Faculty, Deep Water, Land's End, First They Killed My Father and Dracula 2000). Some of the official releases, which only had a few minutes on their albums are covered with more samples (Repo Men, Resident Evil and Cursed).

I will certainly add samples from and pages for The Invisible, David and Lisa, Tuesdays with Morrie, Walking Across Egypt, The Florentine.

btw, have you heard anything about any plans for Free Solo album?

I also appreciate all the hard work you've put in for your Beltrami site Lokutus, and have always put in over the years.

The Invisible is my #1 holy grail, and my favorite Beltrami score. Not one single cue has ever been released officially. I agree though about "Bedside" though, it is one of the most jaw-droppingly stunning cues the man has ever written, in 8+ ecstasy-filled glorious minutes. There are three endings to that cue that he wrote, and they're all amazing. The film version is of course incredible, but I'd be happy with any of them.

Haven't heard anything about a Free Solo sdtk album yet. Perhaps the good success of the film so far will yield a release, but I'm not sure how Nat'l Geo's policies and releases operate in that regard and whether they would be into it. I hope so, it's a wonderful score.

Some NG projects have received soundtrack albums not so long ago from both Lakeshore (One Strange Rock) and Milan (Genius), although in both cases those were series and not movies - which was similar case with Living in the Age of Airplanes, which was just released by Intrada. So hopefully their policies shouldn't be much different in that case and it will get released eventually if anyone actually approaches them about it. Wish I could hear that one.

Hopefully considering major stars involved, we will at least get L'EMPEREUR DE PARIS for Christmas or in early 2019.

Thank you very much for this website and your work. I wish all of my favorite composers had such a thorough website dedicated to them.

Thanks a lot. That's very kind and much appreciated.

If you still miss anything there, let me know and I could add that. It would be great to include his concert works and demos for some abandoned projects (especially Paradise Lost and TNMT would be terrific), but those unfortunately aren't available to me - except for a few concert pieces that were included on some of his albums. There used to be a page on his official website MANY years ago that actually included the list of scores and particular tracks based on his early concert works - and details what those pieces were actually based on - wish I had that saved but it is long gone now.

After rather quiet 2018, 2019 should be pretty big and there is a lot we can already look forward to.

Wow, I had no idea he'd written anything for Paradise Lost!

I actually took part in a contest to win the chance to attend the recording sessions for L'Empereur de Paris. At the time his name hadn't been announced and I assumed it would be Philippe Rombi or Bruno Coulais, so when my name didn't get picked I wasn't too disappointed. Then I learned it was Marco Beltrami... Oh well.

Btw, do we know if his studio was spared by the Malibu fires?

hmm... that's a good question... I have been worried about that for a while as well but I haven't heard back yet with any up to date info... they recorded something last week and the next day the fire started. They probably haven't been able to get back to Pianella to start mixing that score. Hopefully the studio is safe.

Perhaps DeputyRiley knows something more?

ok... got an update and fortunately everyone/thing's safe, although the fire was pretty close. Buck and Tyson are currently mixing the new score in Culver City.

---------------------------

Btw, Marco Beltrami recently participated in Variety's composers panel moderated by Jon Burlingame and you can watch this at this page - about 2/3 down the page. Again it was pretty crowded so he didn't have much space - other participants were Junkie XL, Pinar Toprak, Ludwig Goransson, Ramin Djawadi and Terence Blanchard.

Better get to work and actually do something with those 4 of his 2019 scores - since they are all finished already and one of them has less than 2 months until the film is released. smile
