Not essential but it does have its merits: undone crossfade between “The Worm” And “Out of the Ceiling” and alternate version with wordless chorus of “Reaching Out”. But the analogue mix of the score sounds much better in the Kritzerland. Therefore, if you don’t have an issue with the crossfade or want to buy a 3-CD set for an additional alternate track, keep the Kritzerland. When releasing Poltergeist II Kritzerland mentioned it would look on Poltergeist III. Is it a possibility or it is Varese in perpetuity?    Posted:   Nov 7, 2018 - 3:03 AM     By:   Nicolai P. Zwar   (Member) But the analogue mix of the score sounds much better in the Kritzerland. Really? I wonder why that is. I don't have the Intrada, but the LP, the Varése Deluxe, and the Kritzerland. The Kritzerland sounds very good, and I don't see how the Intrada release could have improved on the sound (especially, as these releases came out comparatively close to each other), but why would it sound much worse than the Kritzerland? I'm very happy with the sound of the Kritzerland, so I don't feel the need to get the Intrada, but at least I thought it should sound just about the same and be an alternative for those who missed the Kritzerland but are interested in the analogue mix.    Posted:   Nov 7, 2018 - 3:08 PM     By:   danbeck   (Member) Intrada opted to release the original digital mixes created by Goldsmith and Bruce Botnick which sounds very good, although have lots of added reverb. The analogue mixes however were done almost completely dry of reverb, specially on the chorus that sounds more in the background and very thin compared to James Nelson’s mixes for Kritzerland. Also in Kritzerland mixes you can hear more the chorus in some key moments like the “scream” at the end of The Power and also when Grandma Jess theme appears at the end of Reaching Out. There were some complains that the nine first tracks in the Intrada analogue mixes have a kind of tape spinning sound that shouldn’t be there (I personally have not noted it, but in fact I did not listened a lot to those mixes as I preferred the digital mixes in the Intrada set).
