We don't want to stop CD, but we can't press more than 200 for most of our releases. So 500 to 200 as written.

Best regards,

Lucas Giorgini,
Label manager,

The Omega Productions Records,

Thanks, Mr. Giorgini. I understand now that you are limiting units to 200. It's either 200 CDs or no CD pressings at all, so you are reducing 500 down to 200.

It is interesting to note here that according to Mr. Giorgini - he wrote this in the French Underscores forum just a few days ago - the vinyl editions of their titles sell much better than their CD equivalents. Therefore the vinyl releases will NOT be reduced from 500 down to 200 units.

Exactly right!

Our last release is the proof than pressing 500 CD units isn't a good thing for us for the moment: more stock, more fees. And the sales aren't so good than the vinyl release (more than 300 units sold).
So, to continue to having a coherent catalog, offering the analog / digital combo like the golden age of the soundtrack and for the respect of our fans, we "just" prefer reducing quantities for the CD.

200 CD units are perfect for erotic / porn soundtracks, "vintage" horror like Jean Rollin, and for some very recent horror movies without a hugh fanbase, more as a technical release.
We can adjust to 300 units for some Jess Franco, and we stay at 500 or 1000 for some very very popular releases like we did for Ghostland.

We are very conscious about our limits, and we know we aren't like Varèse or Intrada: pressing 3000 CD or just 1000 units is suicidal for our little market.

Thank you for your understanding,

The Omega Productions Records

Archives • To keep you waiting until October 15th - day one of the Female Vampire preorders - we would like to share some exclusive pictures from Alain Petit's, Lucas Balbo's and Eurociné's archives: we actually restaure these incredible pictures, some totally unpublished since 1973!

Copyrights © 1973. / 2019. Eurociné & Ramon Ardid.

Daniel J. White's original score will be available after 46 years in the best conditions for Halloween (October 31th), directly from the original master tapes and library albums.

As shared in our last newsletter, this release will also be a double feature including an another soundtrack from Eurociné, still directed by Jess Franco with Lina Romay as the main character.
A very similar score, recorded at the main time of Female Vampire.

But... what movie is it?

Don't hesitate to follow us on our social networks to have our latest news and archives each day at Facebook (www.facebook.com/theomegaprodrecords) or Instagram (@theomegaprodrecords).

Never saw any of these flicks, but my guess would be either The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein or Tender and Perverse Emanuelle.

AnnouncementThe Omega Productions Records is thrilled to reveal the second soundtrack in double feature with Female Vampire:

Tender and Perverse Emmanuelle, an obscure Giallo-like thriller directed by Jess Franco in 1973, starring Lina Romay.

A magnificent soundtrack inspired by Italian composers, particulary Bruno Nicolai. Daniel J. White was his substitute from 1974.

The beautiful main theme of LA COMTESSE NOIRE for strings and piano reminds me of the style of Michel Magne. I like the other excerpts as well including the lounge stuff and will try to get this CD.
All the best to your label, Mr Giorgini.

I just read the debate taking place on the French board Underscores (the one mentioned by Stefan in this thread) and I just can say that I'm disappointed too by your decision to stop the CD format. I bought LE LAC DES MORTS VIVANTS and would have purchased more stuff by Daniel White and possibly other composers. But the vinyle format definitely belongs to the past for me in spite of its current revival. I respect your decision though and understand it's motivated by economical reasons. It's obvious that such CD's as LA COMTESSE NOIRE can't have a large audience and we have to live with it.

I was just going to write about how I've been very happy with my first Omega CD (LA COMTESSE NOIRE). Otherwise scores from the late 80s are not really my taste.

I see you are releasing the music on Bandcamp which has lossless options, so that's fine me if there's no CD. But why is "LE LAC DES MORTS VIVANTS" missing from Bandcamp?

Also any chance of Morgane et ses nymphes (1971)?

Dear,

Thank you for your understanding,

LE LAC DES MORTS VIVANTS was released as the first Omega CD, like a beta test.
With our strict requirements from now (sound quality but also graphic design), we prefer remove it due to the fact we have new master tapes and a new re-release planned for the futur.
This first CD edition doesn't represent our quality requirements from today.

That's why we prefer put it on stand by for the moment.

Dear,

Our decision concerning the CD is more than an economical reason. It's the main part of course, but we have so many reasons to stop it from 2020.

We prefer proposing more soundtracks a year, including exclusive releases for very cheap horror or erotic french films in digital format (lossless of course).

But the CD will only stay for the "Hors-champ sonore" collection (including TV series for example).

Thank you for your understanding,

The Omega Productions Records

Thanks for the explanations, Mr Giorgini. I'm especially pleased to read that you will also release TV series. There are indeed so many from the era 1960/1980 that would deserve to be released! I wish more labels would issue French TV scores. So I'm impatient to hear about the first one that you are scheduling.

AnnouncementThe Omega Productions Records wishes you a happy new year 2020!

For us, 2019 has been the year of vinyl and 2020 will ensure its sustainability with rarer releases of CDs. Indeed, this support will disappear from our collections such as Horreur à la française, Amour à la française, Nouvelle vague horrifique and Eurociné.

We thank you very much for your enthusiasm and we hope you will have as much enjoyment listening to our next releases as we have cooking them up!

Is that a LP re-issue or a new unheard soundtrack?
