Love the music, just as I did season 1!
However...slightly disappointed that we’re not getting full episodic (should that be chapter-odic!) scores.
While I understand many cues are being tracked into the new season from the previous, full scores would have been preferred.
Loving it all the same ????

As beautiful as Reunited is, it seems derived totally from temp track with "Eve" from Wall-E...

Interesting! I was also getting a Stranger Things vibe...

Continuing to love the established themes, but yeah, they're so good that the new material for this season seems underwhelming. The ice spider material is brilliant, as is the emotional effect of the Baby Yoda egg music (despite feeling derivative). I would imagine it was a huge challenge doing this during the pandemic, and also potentially very limiting.

The violins from 0:44 is pretty much the same melodic line as the one in Reunited. Check it out wink

Really enjoyed Season 2, Episode 4 - both the show and score. One of the most "Star Warsy" shows so far, and the score includes an extended quote of a John Williams theme.

I know that some of you are disappointed in the musical approach, but for me, once I accepted the music for what it was, I could appreciate how greatly it contributes to the "feel" of the show.

The Resistance theme gets a nice treatment in “Quite a Soldier”

Göransson nailed this season. Especially the scores to the last two episodes. And that ending was amazing.

Totally agree! There's a really unexpected and quite lovely version of the main theme arranged as a chamber piece over the end credits of the final episode.

That was OK, but overall, I find the music absolutely atrocious.

I really enjoyed the second season, especially the finale, but I actually thought the music was less interesting this time around. Maybe it was the pandemic, which led to more limited orchestrations (hence the "chamber" instrumental end credits), but I just didn't get excited about any of the scoring as I was during season one.

I’ve loved the music for this second season, especially the new Boba Fett theme! (shout out as well to Ahsoka’s and Bo Katan’s theme and the whole of the final episode).
However, VERY disappointed with the two soundtrack releases ??.
Last season we got almost complete episodic soundtracks...this season we’ve got episodic highlights.
Please release the full scores...the music deserves it

The only problem though is that they were charging $10 per episodic score, which added up FAST.

€14,95 if you want them 16-Bit 44.1 kHz. Quite steep.

I think that this season didn't feature as many strong scores each episode, plus some cues tracked from season 1 scores, so I think the "highlights" approach on two albums serves it best.

Kind of a running theme though, huh? lol (pun intended)

John Williams' original trilogy will always be the gold standard for film music to my ears, but it IS refreshing to hear a broader palette. I've enjoyed Goransson's music for both seasons, and I look forward to whatever we're going to get next!

It is impressive how unremarkable and bland the score for this series is.
The only times it makes an impression is when uses the ludicrous Mandalorian theme (from Creed) and when finaly recicles Williams' material in the last episode.
What a missed oportunity!

Fine for those that enjoy the score, I think its literately one of the worst things Ive ever heard in my life.
And not because it doesn't sound like Star Wars. I'm not being hyperbolic either.
