BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA: LIMITED EDITION (3-CD SET)
LLLCD 1469
Music by Wojciech Kilar
Limited Edition of 3000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $34.98

La-La Land Records, Sony Pictures, Sony Music and American Zoetrope proudly present a three-disc remastered and expanded re-issue of acclaimed composer Wojciech Kilar’s (THE PIANIST, THE NINTH GATE) original score to the renowned 1992 feature film BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA, starring Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Composer Kilar’s score is a notable and breathtaking work – a lush, masterful orchestral swirl of dread, beauty, suspense and sensuality… The perfect complement to Coppola’s surreal gothic masterwork. Disc One and Two of this deluxe re-issue presents the premiere of Kilar’s “composed score,” his music as originally written for the film. Disc Two also features a bounty of alternate bonus cues from this material. Disc Three showcases the acclaimed original 1992 album assembly, remastered, with additional bonus tracks. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by James Nelson, this special limited edition re-issue contains exclusive, in-depth liner notes from writer Tim Greiving and sumptuous, blood-thirsty art design by Goldwasser. This release is limited to 3000 units.

Best of the 5 releases - hands down. The only one I'll be purchasing. This is a grail

My excitement for TWINE pretty much immediately overtook my excitement for Dracula, but this is an excellent release too.

Like TITANIC last year, this is a release that I'd given up on seeing an expanded release--EVER! I'm listening to the original release right now on Google Music just to remind myself of how terrifying, romantic, mysterious, and heroic this score is! Hands down my favorite of the Black Friday 2018 releases (and I'm definitely grateful that I never got into HARRY POTTER or I'd be sending a big chunk of my paycheck to LLL this year!)

I became quite a fan of some of Kilar's non-film work that people posted in the memorial thread when he died, but never got around to this score. I'm sampling the original album now...and yes, indeed, this will do nicely.

Holly Molly!!! Somehow I always assumed we'd never see an extended release of this masterpiece!
What a Christmas! Damn you LLL! I didn't plan to spend that much money this year, between this , Die Hard and William's HP box you're torturing me! Or my wallet at least!

Totally agree. I will be buying only this wonderful surprise out of the whole batch. Doubly sweet because it was completely unexpected.

What a brilliant companion piece for the recent Williams version. Fortunately, of all the film scores that Mrs TG has heard since we got together, there have been some that she's liked, but I think this is the only one she's loved.

(But if I get it for her for Christmas, it still feels as if it's a bowling ball with Homer's name on it... big grin)

So....how does this work, as it were? Was the OST sort of taken from chopped up and put together bits of the 'composed score' or what? Are they similar to older scores where they are just fully different recordings for the soundtrack album?

Judging by the working I'm guessing the former but who knows...

I thought this was a score where the composer gave them some themes and they used them as deemed fit for the (terrible) movie. I wonder how much is on there that hasn't been heard before, I've always thought it was repetitive to begin with.

Wonderful! I was re-watching this earlier in the week thinking "well THAT will never happen."
Great news.

This is for me the release of the season, even before Harry Potter. :-)

One of my favorite film scores to one of my favorite movies. Sold.
