As if we filmscore fans didn't have enough deluxe, expanded, remasters etc. to collect this holiday season, the fine folks at Mondo and ubiquitous super-producer Neil S Bulk present a vinyl presentation of Danny Elfman's opus "BATMAN". https://mondotees.com/products/batman-extended-motion-picture-score-2xlp?variant=13575996244061 The 2-LP expanded version (which sold out in just 20 minutes) was announced a while ago, and I think most people assumed its content were more or less identical to the fantastic La-La-Land "Elfman Collection" edition that Neil produced a few years ago. (https://lalalandrecords.com/danny-elfman-batman-collection-the-limited-edition-4-cd-set/) But it wasn't until right after I clicked the "order" button that I actually took a look at the tracklist and discovered a few interesting tidbits that were verified by Neil himself via twitter. And since it apparently hasn't been discussed elsewhere, I figured I would point out: THIS RELEASE CONTAINS NEW MUSIC Here is what I was able to deduce from the tracklist. Perhaps Mr. Bulk would be kind enough to elaborate on or correct me where I am wrong: New, previously unreleased music on this LP: "Board Meeting" (0:20) "Vicki Hides The Film" (0:35) Several other tracks have been updated to reflect the actual cue titles ("Bruce Contemplates" and "Stair Kiss" are examples of this). This is purely cosmetic, as far I can tell. On the LaLaLand Release, "The Truth" was incorrectly labeled as "Joker's Muzak", which has been corrected on the LP and added to the main score presentation. Also worth noting, "Batwing II" and "Batwing III", which were joined on the LaLaLand release, are now individual tracks on the LP. Neil has told me this "was done to get the best sound for both on vinyl." There's still a ton of bonus material and rarities on the Elfman Collection, which also improved the sound quality over LaLaLand's previous expanded release of Batman '89. But the clean presentation of Batwing II & III and unreleased minor cues, make this version unique. Not to mention the exquisite art design and inherent qualities of vinyl. Can't wait to hear this new release...

55 new seconds that we don't have? Scandalous. Sorry, neither of those two tracks contain "Scandalous" by Prince. Neil

I hope there are plans to revisit Batman for another CD release containing these cues, and whatever else may have turned up on that better element that hasn't found a home yet, too. The demo/worktapes from the Elfman/Burton box and the Shirley Walker demo from the Animated Series box could be included to make a truly definitive set finally.

Hello everyone, I'm new here. Just want to say that I adore the Batman 1989 Soundtrack by Danny Elfman I recently purchased the Mondo LP which I love so much that I did a 'unboxing' over on my YouTube channel. My favourite track would have to be Decent into Mystery, adore that piece of music. https://youtu.be/4XPcC8Wg8eE
