I was surprised to see there weren't any posts at all about this composer here...so thought I'd just mention this recent score of his that has been released. I stumbled upon it while looking for Christmas-y scores a few weeks ago and was instantly attracted to it. Fairly reserved, but beautifully written and sensitively scored. I can't think of a more familiar composer to compare Schmidt to...occasionally I get hints of Carter Burwell, perhaps. Anyway...if you enjoy quiet, reflective scores, I think you might like this one. It seems to be available on most download services (I purchased from iTunes - was the cheapest at the time), but it's also available on Amazon and 7digital.
