It's one of these films at the end of the golden age of Teenage/young adult Adventure in the vein of Wargames, D.A.R.Y.L, etc... Somehow everybody seem to have forgotten this one starring Matthew Broderick and Helen Hunt, a young and rebellious pilot who gets sent as a punishment to work with lab chimps.
The score is by Jame Horner and it's far from being the least interesting.
I find myself listening to the Varese edition quite often.
I wonder how easy it would be for Varese, Intrada or LLL to pull the complete recording from the FOX archives?

When I last viewed the film in 2016, I did not recall a single note of score in the film that was missing from that Varese album. From what I heard, the score was complete. Of course I could be wrong and would need to check again some time.

I thought Intrada released a complete version of this a few years ago........?

No. They never did. It's a great album. It deserves to be in print again.

There was an old bootleg paired with music from 'The Hand', and then Varese released the score as part of their CD club back in 2001.

Therefore the 2001 Varese is to date, the only legitimate release of the score.

It deserves to be available especially in much better quality.
If there is any chance for improvement, bring it on!

It's clearly James Horner's music put into words, what with the being the same over and over.

Another example of somebody wanting something when they don't really know what it is they're asking for. Yes, bring on the remaining 60 minutes of score from Project X.

There is no expansion to be had.

I'd like a reissue or expansion just because I missed the Varèse CD.

It's ya'lls horizons that need expanding, not Project X!

When and if they ever release an expanded version they should call it the "XXX" Edition.

Haha!

Then again seeing all-nice-and-tidy Matthew Broderick and the letters XXX on the same image might send some mixed signals :-)))

Best,
Burnie
