Listened to the OST on YT. First half is kinda quirky, the second half are shades of Aliens and WOK. Then it ends with a funky big band music. All around weird.
No, it's funky hurdy-gurdy music, that he also used for the 'little people village music' in WILLOW, but mixed with exotic jungle percussion this time out. It is a mixed-bag of musical styles throughout the film, but that may be what I love most about it.
Man, this movie used to play non-stop on TV throughout the 80s and 90s.
They actually got some really impressive performances out of those chimps. I remember that radiation scene vividly. The slow-mo reaction from that chimp paired with the music was always unsettling.
Great dramatic score. I have the old Varese version and will definitely upgrade when I can afford it.
